Santiago convoca seis contratos temporais para mulleres vítimas de violencia de xénero

The City Council of Santiago de Compostela announces the selection of six female workers as temporary labor personnel for support programs in municipal departments. The call and the regulatory bases are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 211, dated November 4, 2026, under announcement 2026/7089 and signed by the mayor Goretti Sanmartín Rei on October 29, 2026.

The call is part of the grant from the Department of Social Policy and Equality of the Xunta de Galicia for the promotion of the hiring of women who suffer gender-based violence within the framework of collaboration with Galician local entities, as part of the State Pact against Gender-Based Violence. The reference regulation is the Order of December 18, 2025, of the aforementioned department, corresponding to the 2026 annual period.

Six positions for twelve months and full-time

The contracts will be formalized in writing as temporary work with clauses for the improvement of employability and labor insertion (code 405, full-time), with a duration of twelve months and a 100% working day. The distribution of positions and the gross monthly remunerations, including the pro-rata of extraordinary payments, are as follows:

  • One administrative support technician, group A2 with a university degree, at 2,354.35 euros per month.
  • Two administrative support staff, group C1 with a baccalaureate or equivalent, at 1,766.36 euros.
  • Two administrative support assistants, group C2 with compulsory secondary education (ESO) or equivalent, at 1,530.84 euros.
  • One support usher, from the professional groupings and with no required qualification, at 1,444.29 euros.

The bases emphasize that the tasks are of an auxiliary and complementary nature, do not replace structural positions, and remain under the supervision of civil servant or permanent labor personnel. They are part of municipal programs of a determined duration such as the Integrated Employment Program (PIE), the Minerva Program, or other actions of the Department of Rights and Social Services, Economic Promotion, Trade, and Youth. At the end of the twelve months, there will be no extension or concatenation of contracts.

Requirements: accreditation of violence and registration in the employment service

The final recipients are women who suffer gender-based violence, including victims of vicarious violence and victims of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. The required conditions are:

  • Be registered as job seekers with the Galician Public Employment Service, regardless of employment status.
  • Have ceased the cohabitation relationship with the aggressor.
  • Accredit the violence through any of the means specified in Article 5 of the Galician Law 11/2007, of July 27, for the prevention and comprehensive treatment of gender-based violence: protection order or precautionary measure, judicial sentence, reports from social, health, or shelter services, reports from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate, or security forces and bodies.
  • The supporting documentation must have been issued within the 24 months prior to the department’s notification to the local entities.

Furthermore, those who have been employed by the City Council for more than 24 months within a 30-month period, in accordance with Article 15.5 of the Workers’ Statute, will not be eligible to participate.

Preselection by the employment office and two assessment phases

The final selection will be made exclusively among the candidates referred by the public employment service. The City Council will present the offer to the Santiago Employment Office and will not admit any applicant who has not been preselected and summoned. The process consists of two phases:

  • Personal interview, up to 5 points (predisposition, competencies, and employability), with a minimum of 2.5 to proceed to the next phase.
  • Social criteria, up to 8 points: lack of income (4), periodic benefit for victims of gender-based violence (2), RISGA with an insertion project (2), over 45 years of age (2), and family dependents (up to 3).
  • Training-labor criteria, up to 10 points: professional certificates (up to 1), complementary training (up to 4), and professional experience, at 0.10 points per month, up to 5.

The tribunal will consist of five members—presidency, secretary, and three vowels—and the selection will be carried out by a mixed group with representatives from the Department of Employment and technical staff from the employment office. The provisional list of successful candidates will be published with two business days for claims and, with the non-selected applicants, a reserve list will be established to cover resignations or temporary leaves.

Interested parties shall submit the application and merits using the model in Annex 1 at the City Council’s Local Placement Agency, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, and the rules are available at www.axencialocaldecolocacion.org. Those selected will be referred to the General Secretariat for Equality, specifically its Sub-directorate General for the Treatment of Gender-Based Violence, to validate that they meet the requirement of belonging to the collective; anyone who does not obtain this validation cannot be hired.

Impact for job seekers

The call opens six twelve-month jobs with a recruitment route reserved for a group with special insertion difficulties, and transfers the preliminary screening function to the employment offices. Previous experience, family burdens, and lack of income weigh as much as or more than training in the scoring scales, which conditions whom the selection is aimed at.
