Lleida construction sets 1,736 annual hours for 2027
Por FactBox Admin

The Joint Committee of the collective agreement for construction in the Lands of Lleida has approved the 2027 labor calendar, which sets a working day of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday and a maximum of 1,736 annual hours of effective work, equivalent to 217 days. The agreement was signed unanimously on October 5, 2026, and has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida no. 207, dated October 29, 2026 (CVE BOP-2026_0_207_8901), following its registration by the Territorial Services for Business and Labor in Lleida.
Registration and official publication
The publication includes the resolution of the Department of Business and Labor of the Generalitat de Catalunya providing for the registration of the agreement in the Registry of collective agreements, collective labor agreements, and equality plans of Lleida and its publication in the gazette, with the agreement code 25000095011994. The regulation is based on articles 90.2 and 90.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, which approves the Revised Text of the Workers’ Statute, and article 2 of Royal Decree 713/2010, of May 28, on the registration and deposit of agreements.
The text occupies pages 1 to 7 of issue 207 and appears signed by Maria Pilar Espax Gaya on October 23, 2026. The resolution, however, carries a reference to the agreement “for wood and cork in the regions of Lleida” signed on November 6, 2025, despite the fact that the published minutes correspond entirely to the construction sector.
1,736 hours and 217 effective days
The minutes, signed at the headquarters of the Federation of Construction Guilds of Lleida (Rambla Ferran, 32, Lleida) at 10:30 a.m. on October 5, 2026, establish the monthly distribution of working days: 17 in January, 20 in February, 20 in March, 22 in April, 21 in May, 20 in June, 22 in July, 22 in August, 22 in September, 19 in October, 21 in November, and 14 in December.
The twelve official holidays in Catalonia are:
- January 1 and 6 (New Year’s Day and Three Kings’ Day)
- March 26 (Good Friday) and March 29 (Easter Monday)
- May 1 (Labor Day) and June 24 (Saint John’s Day)
- September 11 (National Day of Catalonia) and October 12 (National Day of Spain)
- November 1 (All Saints’ Day), December 6 and 8 (Constitution Day and Immaculate Conception) and December 25 (Christmas)
To these dates, the two local holidays of each municipality must be added; if they coincide with a Saturday, Sunday, holiday by agreement, or official holiday, they are moved to the following first working day.
Nine days for excess hours and vacations
The calendar incorporates nine holidays for excess working hours, which are January 4 and 5, June 25, October 11, and December 7, 27, 28, 29, and 30. Vacations are set at 30 calendar days, of which 21 must be working days.
Furthermore, the agreement establishes March 25 and December 24 and 31 as public holidays. The agreement provides that the calendar may be modified if the annual working day provided for in the applicable General Agreement of the Construction Sector is modified.
Application to companies and signatories
The calendar applies to all companies affected by the agreement, unless a different one is agreed upon with the Works Council, the staff representatives or, in the absence of these, with the workforce. The representatives who signed the minutes unanimously are:
- For UGT: Juani Arenas Gómez, Fernando Serrando Vargas and Juan Carlos López Salvador
- For CCOO: Roberto Fernández Pulido and Lorena Ibars Ballesta
- For the Construction Guilds Federation of Lleida: Núria Cervós Cortina, Ester Pagano Pubill and Marta Montserrat i Aragonès
The minutes delegate to the secretary of the commission, Marta Montserrat, the processing of the registration, deposit, and publication of the calendar.
The decision directly affects construction companies and workforces in the Lleida district, who already know the year-end closing dates —with up to nine non-working days concentrated in December— and will be able to plan contracts, works, and shifts one year in advance.
