Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña publishes this Monday, in issue number 209, the collective agreement for the hospitality sector of the province of A Coruña, registered in the autonomous registry under agreement code 15000745011981. The resolution was signed by the territorial director of the Ministry of Employment, Trade and Emigration of the Xunta de Galicia in A Coruña on October 26, 2026, Juan José Couce Prego, and orders the full publication of the text under announcement number 2026/7007. The agreement enters into force upon its publication, but its effects are retroactive to January 1, 2025.
A provincial framework with tourist homes included
The scope is provincial: it affects all companies and workers based in the province of A Coruña to whom the state-level labor agreement for the hospitality sector (ALEH) applies, which becomes an integral part of the agreement. The main novelty in the functional scope is the express inclusion of tourist rental homes, to which the salary tables of Section I for three-star “Hotels, apartments, residences and hostels” apply.
The duration is established at five years, until December 31, 2029, with an automatic annual extension if there is no notice of termination one month in advance; in the case of such an extension, an increase equivalent to the CPI would apply. The text was signed on the employer side by the Hospitality Association of Compostela, HOSPECO, the Provincial Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of A Coruña, Unión Hotelera Compostela, and the Hospitality Association of Ferrol and Region, and on the union side by UGT, CIG, and CCOO.
Salaries: 500 euro one-time payment and increases until 2029
The economic chapter establishes a one-time payment of 500 gross euros, payable no later than October 31, 2026, for personnel with a valid contract in 2025 and proportional to the contract duration and working day, without impact on the salary tables. The following increases apply to the tables, revisable according to the CPI of each year and retroactive to January 1:
- 3% in 2026, paid no later than December 31, 2026.
- 3.5% in 2027.
- 3% in 2028.
- 3.25% in 2029.
To this is added a transport bonus of 30 gross euros monthly in twelve installments, applicable from October 1, 2026, and without revision during the term of validity; a compensatory training bonus of 20 euros for fifteen payments for companies that do not prove participation in training plans; and the maintenance of the right to board and lodging at 63.29 and 18.00 euros monthly during 2026. The tables include eight sections (hotels, pensions, restaurants, cafeterias, café-bars, party halls, taverns and billiard halls), in addition to catering and American bars: a waiter/waitress in a three-star hotel starts at 1,271.65 euros per month and a reception manager in a five-star hotel, at 1,444.18 euros.
Working day of 1,792 hours and 65% permanent staff
The maximum working day is set at 1,792 annual hours of effective work, distributed as an average of 40 weekly hours, with a fifteen-minute break on working days of five hours or more and a quarterly hour bank of up to 42 hours. Vacations are 30 calendar days and there are three extraordinary payments: Christmas, July, and September. Night shifts between 22:00 and 24:00 hours are remunerated with 1% over the base salary and between 00:00 and 06:00 with 25%.
Regarding employment, the agreement mandates that 65% of the staff must have permanent contracts in companies open to the public all year round, regulates the call-ups for permanent seasonal staff (minimum of five months and ten days’ notice) and creates a specific regime for event “extras,” with a minimum call-up of 180 hours and 48 hours’ notice. It also mandates the subscription of an accident insurance of 24,000 euros and a collective life policy of 12,000 euros within a period of four months, and to guarantee 100% of the salary from the first day of the first sick leave due to common illness.
Joint monitoring following the agreement that cancelled the strike
The interpretation and monitoring correspond to a Joint Commission with UGT, CIG, and CCOO and the business associations, based at the Galician Council of Labor Relations, which will meet every six months or within ten days at the request of any member. The text also incorporates the right to digital disconnection, an annual medical review, two uniforms per year, and notice periods of 30 days for management positions and 15 for the rest of the staff.
The publication closes a long negotiation. The Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 197, dated October 15, 2026, recorded the mediation agreement of file AGA 97/2026, signed on October 6 at the headquarters of the Galician Council of Labor Relations, in which the parties fixed the salary increase and the cancellation of the strike and the called mobilizations.
The text arrives nearly two years late relative to its entry into force, so bars, restaurants, and accommodation companies must now apply tables and back-pay since January 2025, while the staff consolidates a unique labor reference for the entire sector in the province.
