Barcelona Photography Agreement: 4% increases until 2028

The Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona publishes this Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the registration and publication of the Collective Agreement for the trade and importers of photographic, video, and sound articles sector of the province of Barcelona for the years 2026-2028. The resolution, dated September 18, 2026, is signed by the director of Territorial Services in Barcelona, Lídia Frias Forcada, and orders the text to be registered in the Registry of Collective Agreements of the Department of Enterprise and Labor and published in the gazette. The document is released with the official reference CVE 202610143094 and the agreement code 08000785011994, and occupies pages 1 to 52.
The agreement was signed on June 29, 2026, by the employer side, the Photography and Image Guild of Catalonia (GREFO, also cited as GREFOC), and the social side, the CCOO Services Federation of Catalonia and the Services, Mobility and Consumption Federation of Catalonia (FESMC-UGT). The functional scope covers companies involved in the trade, import, and export of photographic, video, and sound articles, including laboratories, mini-laboratories (minilabs), and instant photography, and the territorial scope is the entire province of Barcelona. The economic conditions are valid from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028.
Annual salary increases of 4%
Article 27 establishes the remunerative progression based on the salary tables of annexes I, II, and III:
- Year 2026: 4% increase over the 2025 tables, effective from January 1, 2026.
- Year 2027: 4% increase over the 2026 tables, effective from January 1, 2027.
- Year 2028: 4% increase over the 2027 tables, effective from January 1, 2028.
As an example, the position of director increases from 2,679.27 euros per month (40,188.97 euros per year) in 2026 to 2,897.90 euros per month (43,468.39 euros per year) in 2028, while the category of assistant is set at 1,139.60 euros per month in 2026. The final provision establishes that the arrears corresponding to 2026 will be paid within 30 days following the publication of the agreement in the BOPB.
Working day, vacations, and permits
Article 32 progressively reduces the annual working day: 1,776 hours in 2026, 1,772 in 2027, and 1,768 in 2028, with a daily limit of 9 hours and a 20-minute break for continuous working days exceeding 6 hours. The text also guarantees:
- 31 calendar days of paid annual leave.
- Three extraordinary bonuses, payable on December 15, July 15, and March 31.
- A night shift premium of 25% of the base salary for shifts between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
- A supplement of 50% of the individual salary for work on Sundays or holidays, on a voluntary basis.
- Leave of up to 16 calendar days for marriage, 4 days for the birth of a child, and 5 working days for the serious accident or illness of a relative.
- 16 paid annual hours for medical visits for the employee or their ascendants and descendants.
Regarding care, the suspension of the contract for birth is 19 weeks per parent and increases to 32 weeks in cases of single parenthood.
Health, equality, and governance of the agreement
The agreement completes the supplement for temporary disability benefits up to 75% of the regulatory base for common contingencies and up to 100% for professional contingencies, with a limit of 18 months, and requires companies to contract accident insurance with a capital of 16,000 euros. Other agreed amounts are:
- Marriage grant of 91.45 euros in 2026, 95.11 euros in 2027, and 98.91 euros in 2028.
- Birth bonus with the same amounts per year.
- Death benefit of three monthly payments, with at least one year of tenure at the company.
Annex IV incorporates the planned set of measures and the protocol against harassment for LGBTI+ people, which is mandatory for companies with more than 50 workers. The Joint Commission, composed of four representatives from the employers’ association and four from the social partners, resolves discrepancies within 7 days, and unresolved conflicts are submitted to the conciliation and mediation procedures of the Labor Court of Catalonia.
With this publication, the photography, video, and sound sector of the province of Barcelona has a stable labor framework for three years, with annual salary increases of 4% and a gradual reduction of the working day, providing coverage for dependents, service technicians, laboratory operators, and storage and delivery personnel in the sector.
