Concurs per dirigir els Serveis Generals del Museu Marítim de Barcelona

The Consortium of the Royal Shipyards and Maritime Museum of Barcelona has approved the rules and public call CI-02/2026 to provide, through a specific competition for inter-administrative mobility, one position for Head of General Services assigned to the Deputy Directorate-Management. The approval was formalized by Decree of the General Directorate of the Consortium of October 22, 2026 (registry 787/2026) and the announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on October 30, 2026, with the official reference CVE 202610161585 and file CDRB/2026/0037102. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 calendar days starting from the day after the publication of the call in the DOGC.

The position is part of the management structure of a benchmark cultural institution in Barcelona and entails transversal responsibilities regarding security, risk prevention, and service contracting. The position is classified as A503, with a destination supplement level of 20, subgroup A2, and an extended working day starting at 37.5 hours per week, with the workplace located at Avinguda de les Drassanes, s/n, Barcelona.

A technical profile focused on security and prevention

The functions listed in the rules position the holder as the internal reference for the protection of people and the Consortium’s heritage. Among the assigned tasks, the following stand out:

  • Advising the Deputy Directorate-Management on transversal work and preparing technical studies and reports.
  • Organizing the security operations for acts and events, and proposing improvements to building access.
  • Monitoring the private security service and supervising compliance with security regulations by the contracted companies.
  • Supporting the Consortium’s Prevention Plan, emergency drills, and Self-Protection Plans.
  • Managing the monitoring of insurance policies and reporting claims to insurance companies.
  • Acting as the training reference before the Provincial Council of Barcelona and evaluating employee training actions.
  • Drafting technical specifications and calculating costs for assigned procurement files.

Requirements and submission of applications

The call is for inter-administrative mobility and limits participation to personnel from the consortiumed entities. It will be necessary to:

  • Be a career civil servant of the Diputació de Barcelona or the Barcelona City Council, or permanent contractual staff of these two institutions, the Port Authority of Barcelona, or the Consortium itself.
  • Be in active service or in an administrative situation that allows participation.
  • Belong to classification subgroup A2.
  • Accredit a minimum seniority of two years in the current assignment.
  • Possess level C1 of Catalan, with the possibility of exemption in the provided cases.
  • Submit a curriculum vitae, accreditation of merits, and a report of approximately 25 pages titled “The Security and Prevention Plan of the Consorci de les Drassanes Reials i Museu Marítim de Barcelona. Description and proposals for improvement.”

Applications can be formalized electronically, through the museum’s electronic office, or in person at the General Registry of the Museu Marítim de Barcelona from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Three phases and two scales of 20 points

The provision process is structured into three successive phases. The first is the accreditation of Catalan language knowledge, with a result of fit or unfit. The second is the assessment of capacity, which evaluates the report and its defense before the evaluation body, with a maximum of 20 points and a minimum of 50% to proceed. The third is the evaluation of merits, also with a ceiling of 20 points, which includes seniority, professional experience, qualifications, consolidated grade, training, and other merits.

The evaluation body will be chaired by the general director of the Consortium and will include as members the manager, two technicians from the Consortium, and one technician from the Diputació de Barcelona, with a secretary from the Human Resources and Organization Unit. The list of admitted and excluded candidates will be issued within a maximum period of one month and will open ten business days for corrections. Whoever is assigned must remain in the new position for a minimum of two years.

Impact for the cultural sector

Filling this position reinforces the operational management of a heritage facility that combines museum activity, event security, and external contract management, areas that are particularly sensitive in an institution open to the public. The competition also confirms the mobility model between the consortium administrations —Diputació, City Council, Port Authority, and Consortium— as a way to feed the leadership positions of the museum.
