Chantada approves its 2026 public employment offer with four positions

The Chantada City Council approved its public employment offer for the 2026 fiscal year through a mayoral resolution dated September 29, 2026. The offer comprises four positions, all of them reserved for internal promotion, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 226, Friday, October 2, 2026, with the official reference R. 2628.

The publication is carried out under article 128 of the revised text of the legal provisions in force regarding the local regime, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18, and article 204 of Law 2/2015, of April 29, on public employment in Galicia. The announcement bears the signature of the mayor, Manuel Lorenzo Varela Rodríguez, and is inserted in the city councils section of the provincial gazette, under the heading “Public employment offer 2026 of the Chantada City Council”.

Three civil servant positions

The offer reserves three positions for civil servants, all of them via internal promotion:

• Technician, code 1003, group B, level 22, one vacancy.
• Administrative Assistant, code 1004, group C1, level 21, one vacancy.
• General Administration Technician (TAG), code 2002, group A1, level 26, one vacancy.

The General Administration technician position is the highest qualification of the set, being in group A1 and level 26, the highest of the four offered posts. The other two civil servant positions fall within groups B and C1, with levels 22 and 21 respectively.

One labor staff position

The labor staff framework includes a single position, also linked to internal promotion:

• Culture Assistant, code 5135, group IV, level 14, one vacancy.

With its inclusion, the offer covers both the civil servant and labor regimes, although it maintains in all cases the same access route: the internal promotion of personnel already providing services to the council.

Regulatory framework and scope

The public employment offer is the instrument through which local administrations specify annually the positions they plan to fill, in application of the local regime legislation and Galician public employment regulations. In the case of Chantada, the resolution is limited to four positions and does not open any open competition, meaning the vacancies will be filled with the corporation’s own personnel.

The invoked regulations require the offer to be published in the official provincial gazette once approved by the competent body, which in this case is the mayor’s office. The resolution of September 29, 2026, thus completes the approval and publicity process of the offer, which is formalized with its insertion in BOP no. 226.

The publication of the offer is not equivalent to the call for selection processes. The announcement does not detail deadlines for submitting applications nor the rules, which must be approved and published in a later phase, once the tests corresponding to each of the four positions are called.

Relevance

The publication in the official bulletin provides publicity and effectiveness to the offer and allows municipal staff to know the positions for which they may apply. For the workers of the Chantada City Council, the call represents an opportunity for internal promotion in four different categories, including one group A1 position, and confirms the council’s commitment to filling its vacancies with personnel already integrated into the local administration.
