Blanes opens a job bank for maintenance concierge with a ten-day deadline

The Blanes City Council has opened an urgent selection process to establish a job bank for caretaker-maintenance staff, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 212, dated November 4, 2026. The rules and the call for applications were approved by mayoral resolution number 20260003167, dated October 20, 2026, and the deadline for submitting applications is ten business days starting from the day after publication.

The stated objective is to have a list of candidates to cover temporary, urgent, and non-deferrable needs for the caretaker-maintenance position at the Blanes town hall. The job bank will be valid for two years from its establishment via the corresponding mayoral decree and will be governed by the general criteria set out in Mayoral Decree 2018000034, dated January 11.

A position assimilated to group AP with 35 weekly hours

The convened position is that of caretaker-maintenance, assimilated to classification group AP, with a level 14 destination supplement and labor regime. The working day is the ordinary one of the town hall, currently 35 hours per week, which may be supplemented with a minimum of 35 annual hours; the schedule will adapt to the needs of the destination department.

The assigned functions include:

• Ensuring the operation and preventive, corrective, and substitutive maintenance of the municipal center’s facilities.
• Controlling the access of people to the guarded center.
• Taking charge of reception and public attention.
• Ensuring occupational health and safety, with the proper use of machinery, tools, and protective equipment.
• Assuming other similar tasks assigned by superiors.

Remuneration of up to 9,530.81 euros per year in specific supplements

The base remuneration for the position consists of two fixed items, to which additional supplements are added depending on the assigned center:

• General Specific Supplement: 9,530.81 gross euros per year.
• Position supplement: 1,232.45 gross euros per year.
• Prorated split-shift supplement: 1,509.94 gross euros per year.
• Holiday and weekend supplement: 1,878.49 gross euros per year.
• Specific supplement for special dedication of 35 additional annual hours, optional: 1,019.91 gross euros per year.

Ten business days, fee of 12.66 euros, and open-access competitive examination

The main requirements are to hold Spanish nationality or that of a European Union member state, to be at least 16 years old without having exceeded the compulsory retirement age, to possess a school certificate or be in a position to obtain one, and to prove a basic level of Catalan (A2) or higher. It is also necessary not to be disqualified by a final judgment, not to incur causes of incompatibility, and not to have been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity or for human trafficking.

Applications should preferably be submitted through the municipal electronic office, or in person by appointment at the AMIC office, and must include the curriculum vitae, qualification, linguistic accreditation, and proof of payment of the fee. This fee is 12.66 euros, as provided in the eighth section of Fiscal Ordinance 310.00, and the code B.U.CONSERGE-MANTENIDOR must be indicated in the transfer concept.

Members of large or single-parent families, unemployed persons who do not receive financial benefits, and persons with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% are exempt from payment. The process is resolved by competitive examination in a free turn, with a theoretical-practical test of a maximum of two hours scored out of 10 (a minimum of 5 is required to pass) and an optional competency interview worth up to 2.5 points. The qualifying tribunal is composed of two-thirds of personnel from the corporation or other local entities and one-third of specialized personnel.

The call is a relevant public job opportunity for Blanes, as it allows joining a municipal pool with detailed remuneration and a validity of two years, but the window of opportunity is very short: those who wish to apply have only ten business days from the publication in the BOP to complete the registration and payment of the fee.
