Arcos de Valdevez opens public tender for 30 educational action assistants

The Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez has opened a common competitive procedure for the filling of 30 job positions in the career and category of operational assistant, in the area of educational action assistant, with an indefinite-term public service employment contract. The opening was decided by a resolution of the Arcos de Valdevez Municipal Council on September 28, 2026, and by an order from the mayor on October 8, 2026. The procedure is detailed in Notice (extract) no. 26645/2026/2, published in the Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 208, of October 27, 2026, in Part H — Local Authorities.

The competition is the largest contingent explicitly indicated among the notices for the opening of municipal competitive procedures in that edition of the bulletin, which gathers dozens of announcements from municipalities and parishes. The positions correspond to vacancies provided for in the 2026 Personnel Map and are intended for functions in the municipality’s schools, under the dependency of the Sociocultural Development Division.

Daily support functions for schools

• assistance and guidance for school users and control of entries and exits;
• cooperation in activities aimed at the safety of children and young people in school;

• support for school social action services;
• provision of first aid and accompanying students to health units, when necessary;
• reproduction of documents, control of reprography stocks, and minor repairs;
• support for the operation of school laboratories and libraries and other tasks defined by superiors.

Admission requirements

Candidates must meet the general requirements of article 17 of the LTFP, namely:

• Portuguese nationality, unless waived by the Constitution, special convention, or special law;
• At least 18 years of age;
• Absence of disqualification for the exercise of public functions or prohibition from the functions to be performed;
• Physical robustness and psychological profile indispensable for the exercise of functions;
• Compliance with mandatory vaccination laws.

As for qualifications, compulsory schooling is required, varying according to the date of birth. The requirements must be met by the application deadline.

Ten working days and electronic application

The procedure is open for a period of 10 working days, counted from the first working day following the publication of the notice in the Diário da República (by extract). Applications are formalized through the municipality’s online services platform, at https://recrutamento.cmav.pt/, by filling out a form and submitting the qualification documents; the notice also sets 10 working days counted from the publication in the Public Employment Exchange (BEP), pursuant to articles 12 and 13 of Ordinance no. 233/2022. In the same edition and for the same municipality, Notice (extract) no. 26644/2026/2 was also published, reporting the signing of an indefinite-term contract with Tiago Caldas Gomes, in the career and category of senior technician (electrical engineering), with the salary corresponding to the 1st remunerative position of the 16th level of the single table (1,499.15 euros) and effective as of August 1, 2026.
