UVigo announces thirty permanent labor professor positions

The University of Vigo announces a competition for access to thirty permanent labor professor positions under reference PPL2601, with a fee of 44.17 euros per position. The call was signed by the rector María Carmen García Mateo on October 15, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of Galicia on Friday, October 23 (DOG No. 202, p. 53536). The resolution is issued under Organic Law 2/2023, of the university system (LOSU), and the university statutes approved by Decree 13/2019, of January 24. It executes the public employment offer for teaching and research staff for the year 2024, approved by the Resolution of December 20, 2023 (DOG of December 27), following the authorization of the Autonomous Community and the agreement of the Governing Council.

The procedure is completed by Law 39/2015 of the common administrative procedure, Law 40/2015 of the legal regime of the public sector, Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015 (EBEP), and the internal regulations for access competitions approved by the Governing Council on December 20, 2024, and modified on March 12, 2025.

Doctorate and accreditation as starting requirements

The second base requires that applicants meet the requirements on the date of the application deadline and maintain them until taking office:

Spanish nationality, nationality of a Member State of the European Union, or of States with free movement of workers; spouses and descendants may also compete under the terms of the EBEP.
Be at least sixteen years old and not exceed the maximum age of compulsory retirement.
Hold a doctoral degree, with a homologation credential in the case of foreign degrees.
Provide proof of a positive evaluation from ANECA or ACSUG as a permanent labor professor or contracted doctor.
Have paid the fees within the deadline and not be separated from service by disciplinary proceedings nor disqualified from public functions.
Possess functional capacity for the position and, if opting for the position reserved for people with disabilities, a valid certificate of a degree equal to or greater than 33%.

Regarding linguistic matters, it is necessary to prove Spanish as a foreign language at level B2 or higher (ACLES certificates) and Galician through a Celga3 diploma or equivalent; the university grants two years from the appointment to complete both competencies.

Twenty business days and 44.17 euros per position

Deadline: twenty business days from the day following publication in the DOG, extendable to the first business day if the last is a non-working day.
Fee: 44.17 euros per position, settled within the registration application itself.
Payment: in cash at Abanca, Banco Santander or CaixaBank, or by card through the computer application.
Total exemption: persons with a disability of 33% or higher and special category large families.
50% bonus: general category large families and job seekers for at least six months who do not receive a benefit or subsidy.
Failure to pay within the deadline is not rectifiable and determines definitive exclusion.

Registration is done per position on the university’s calls website, with the keyword PPL2601, and documentation is submitted via the electronic office (https://sede.uvigo.gal) through the procedure «SPDI – 1º concurso público Profesorado permanente laboral».

An oral test and commissions with a single scale

The access commissions appear in Annex II and must seek a balanced composition between women and men. Each is constituted within one month of the definitive list, with three titular and substitute members, and fixes the scale at the act of constitution: research and transfer experience and teaching and educational innovation experience must have the same weight, within a margin of 35 to 45% of the total score.

The competition consists of a single public test, consisting of an oral presentation of between thirty minutes and two hours, followed by a debate of up to two hours. The order of appearance begins with persons whose first surname starts with the letter «B». The appointment corresponds to the rector and the contract is fixed and indefinite, with a probationary period of six months. An appeal may be filed against the proposal within ten business days before the Claims Commission, which resolves within three months, and the complete procedure cannot exceed six months, with the month of August being a non-working month.

Annex I details 27 references totaling thirty positions, all for permanent labor professors:

Statistics and Operational Research (Faculty of Biology) and Regional Geographic Analysis (Faculty of Business and Tourism Sciences).
Art History (Faculty of History), Drawing (Faculty of Fine Arts) and two for Translation and Interpreting (Faculty of Philology and Translation).
Graphic Expression in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, two for Agroforestry Engineering and Electronic Technology.
Four positions for Computer Languages and Systems at the Higher School of Computer Engineering, the only reference with more than one position.
