A construción da Coruña fixa 228 días laborables para 2027

The joint commission of the collective agreement for construction in the province of A Coruña unanimously approved the labor calendar for 2027, which establishes 228 annual working days and 1,736 effective hours. The agreement was signed on October 14, 2026, at the headquarters of APECCO and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña in issue number 206 on October 28, 2026, under announcement number 2026/6916. The entry into force is set for January 1, 2027.

The official publication was carried out by the Territorial Department of A Coruña, dependent on the Ministry of Employment, Trade and Migration of the Xunta de Galicia, through a resolution of registration and publication signed by the territorial director, Juan José Couce Prego, on October 21, 2026. The agreement entered the Registry of collective agreements and labor contracts of the Autonomous Community of Galicia (REGCON) on October 16, 2026, with the agreement code 15000395011982.

The resolution bases its competence on Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, which approves the revised text of the Workers’ Statute Law, Royal Decree 713/2010, regarding the registration and deposit of collective agreements and labor contracts, and Decree 147/2024, which establishes the organic structure of the ministry. The text also orders the submission of the agreement to the provincial gazette for its publication.

Eleven agreement holidays and a workday of 1,736 hours

The calendar starts from a total of 365 days, from which 50 Saturdays, 52 Sundays, 9 national holidays, 3 autonomous community holidays, 2 local holidays, and 21 days of annual vacation are deducted, resulting in 228 working days. On this basis, and after applying 11 days of adaptation to the national agreement (FC-8), the workday stands at 217 days and 1,736 effective working hours.

The parties agreed on the following dates as sector-specific holidays for 2027:

  • January 4 and 5.
  • February 8 and 9.
  • March 22, 23, and 24.
  • October 11.
  • December 7, 24, and 31.

These days, identified as FC-8, are treated as holidays to comply with Article 67 of the General Agreement of the Construction Sector, but they do not lose their working character for future agreements. The calendar legend also details 9 national holidays, 3 autonomous holidays, and 2 local holidays, and a total of 30 calendar days of vacation.

Rules for transferring holidays and application limits

The agreement establishes that local holidays will be those determined by the holiday calendar published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña itself. When a local holiday coincides with an agreement holiday (FC-8) or a Saturday, it will be moved to the previous working day. Furthermore, FC-8 days that fall within the vacation period will not be counted as vacation.

The calendar will apply to those companies that have not established their own labor calendar in accordance with article 67.4 of the General Agreement of the Construction Sector. If the national agreement sets a different working day or if a legal modification occurs regarding the working day, both parties commit to adapting the calendar to the effectively agreed working day or to the new regulations.

The document reminds, in its final note, that in the event of extreme temperatures, the protocol regulating the application of RD 4/2023, approved by the negotiating commission of the state agreement on July 4, 2023, must be followed.

APECCO, UGT, and CCOO validate the text

The minutes of the meeting record the attendance of the business and union representatives who signed the agreement, held at 1:00 PM on October 14 at the APECCO premises:

  • For APECCO: Eva Gómez Portela, Ignacio Tuñón Gurrea, Jorge Fernández-Chao (advisor), and Miguel García Eiroa (secretary).
  • For UGT: Santiago González Andión.
  • For CCOO: Alba Camañez Fariñas and Ricardo Santos Reiriz.

The parties agreed to delegate to the personnel authorized by the Galician Council of Labor Relations the registration and publication procedures of the agreement and any necessary management before the labor authority, and that one single person from each party shall sign.

The calendar affects all construction and public works companies in the province that do not have their own calendar, thus already marking the site closure dates, shifts, and contract planning for the coming year. The fixing of 1,736 effective hours provides companies with a common reference to calculate payroll, overtime, and vacations throughout 2027.
