ZF Sachs has registered and published the new collective bargaining agreement in Lezama

The territorial representative for Labor and Social Security of Bizkaia, Verónica Fernández Fernández, has issued the resolution ordering the registration, filing, and publication of the 2026-2027 collective agreement for the ZF Sachs España, S.A.U. plant in Lezama. The agreement was signed on June 17, 2026, by the company and employee representatives, and was published in the Official Gazette of Bizkaia (BOB) issue number 157, on August 19, 2026, in section III (official reference: BOB-2026a157-(III-129)).
The resolution is based on Article 90.2 of the Statute and Decree 323/2024, and it has been verified that the agreement was signed in accordance with Articles 85, 88, 89, and 90 of the Statute. The agreement has the official code 48100162012011 and covers all employees of the plant located at Aretxalde neighborhood, number 130 in Lezama, regardless of the contract modality, except for Area Directors and senior executives.
Duration and Remuneration
The agreement is in effect from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027, and will be automatically denounced on October 1, 2027, maintaining the ultra-activity regime. A linear increase of 1,800 euros per worker has been agreed upon for 2026, distributed as follows:
- 1,200 euros in basic salary.
- 300 euros in the July 2026 extraordinary payment.
- 300 euros in the December 2026 extraordinary payment.
The increase for 2027 will depend on the annual rate of change of the general CPI for December 2026 published by the INE, and the May payments and holiday pay will increase to 1,150 euros. The seniority supplement is 64.81 euros per month for every five years of service in 2026.
Working Day, Bonuses, and Social Benefits
The annual working day for 2026 is 1,656 hours (split shift), 1,640 (two shifts), 1,632 (three shifts), and 1,624 (four shifts); it will be reduced by eight hours in 2027. Vacations are 22 working days, and 23 for those over 55 years old; from 2027 onwards, those with more than 30 years of seniority will also have 23. The main bonuses are:
- Activity Bonus: €518.65/month in production, and €345.76 in quality and maintenance work.
- Shift Bonus: €235.75/month.
- Night Shift Bonus: €40.43/night.
- Travel Allowance: €1.50/day in 2026 and €1.60 from 2027 onwards.
Among the social benefits, an insurance of 90,000 euros for death due to work accidents, between 100,000 and 110,000 euros for permanent disability, and a life insurance of 30,000 euros are highlighted. Likewise, an annual aid of 2,000 euros for employees with disabilities, advances of up to 5,000 euros, and payment for nursery services (up to 1,000 euros) have been established.
Employment and Basque Language
The agreement provides for maintaining the workforce template until December 31, 2027, and if employment regulation becomes necessary, the company commits to compensating 100% of all salary concepts for the affected employees. Partial retirement and relief contracts are encouraged, and mandatory retirement is set at 68 years, provided that generational relief is guaranteed. To promote the Basque language, an annual budget of 4,000 euros has been established to pay for enrollments, and the company commits to making signage bilingual.
This agreement is fundamental for the plant, which is one of the main sources of employment in Lezama, and also serves as a sector reference, as it fixes specific conditions for remuneration, working hours, and social protection for two years.
