The City Council of Xunqueira de Ambía has definitively approved the modification of Fiscal Ordinance No. 10, regulating the tax for bathrooms, showers, swimming pools, sports facilities, and other analogous services. The agreement, processed under file 242/2025, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense (BOP) on October 5, 2026, with registration reference R. 2.225. The regulation sets the new entry fees and passes for the municipal pool and introduces discounts for large families and people with disabilities.
The modification was approved by the City Council Plenary in the session of June 6, 2025, and submitted for public information via an announcement in BOP No. 124, dated July 1, 2025. The ordinance is based on articles 133.2 and 142 of the Constitution, article 106 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of the local regime, and articles 15 to 19 of Law 39/1988, of December 28, regulating local finances.
According to the published text, all those who benefit from the services or activities provided by the City Council within the scope of the pool and sports facilities are required to pay the tax. The payment obligation arises from the moment the service is provided.
Pool entry fees
Article 3 of the ordinance sets the amount of the tax according to the following entry fee:
- Persons over 16 years old: €3.00
- Persons under 16 down to 4 years old: €2.00
- Children under 3 years old: free
Season passes
Passes are distinguished according to registration (empadronamiento) in the City Council:
- Registered persons over 16 years old: €20
- Registered persons under 16 down to 4 years old: €12
- Registered family pass: €30
- Non-registered persons over 16 years old: €30
- Non-registered persons under 16 years old: €20
- Non-registered family pass: €50
Discounts for large families and people with disabilities
- Large families registered as such, presenting the family card: €45 for non-registered and €25 for registered residents.
- 40% discount for family passes for persons registered in any tax census of the City Council.
- 50% discount on passes for people with disabilities, who must present the corresponding certificate.
Payment, access, and entry into force
Individual payment of the tax is made at the time of entering the premises. Pass users must formalize it in advance at the City Council offices, from 9:00 to 14:00 Monday to Friday, and present it each time they access the municipal pools.
The ordinance considers “family” to be spouses, cohabitants or domestic partners, and their sons and daughters who are students up to 25 years of age, provided they are not working. The regulation will enter into force once published in the BOP and after the period referred to in article 70.2, in relation to 65.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, remaining in effect until its express modification or repeal.
The update of the rates and the incorporation of bonuses directly affect the cost of access to the municipal swimming pools for the residents of Xunqueira de Ambía and for users from outside the municipality, and establish differentiated treatment for large families and people with disabilities.
