Por FactBox Admin

The Vidreres City Council has approved the call and the regulatory bases for the selection process for the permanent filling of three Local Police officer positions, through an open competitive examination system. The resolution, signed by Mayor Jordi Camps Vicente via Mayoral Decree 2026DECR00111 dated September 3, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 173, dated September 8, 2026 (edict 7885, CVE BOP-2026_0_173_7885).

The process will be governed by Law 16/1991 on local police in Catalonia, Decree 233/2002, and Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, among other regulations.
Position Characteristics and Remuneration
The announced position has the following characteristics:
- Title: local police officer, career civil servant status.
- Classification subgroup: C1, with destination supplement level 16.
- Gross annual specific supplement 2026: €19,766.74 (€18,762.94 during the internship period).
- Working day: ordinary 37.5 hours per week.
- Selection system: open competitive examination.
In addition to the three positions in the first call, the announcement includes a second call for a maximum of two additional positions, charged to the public employment offers of the following two years, to cover future vacancies in the force. A job bank of officers will also be established, with a renewable validity of two years, to address temporary and urgent staffing needs.
Requirements and Submission of Applications
To participate, applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:
- Hold Spanish citizenship and be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma (batxillerat), technical degree (intermediate vocational training cycle), or equivalent.
- Accredit intermediate level (B2) of Catalan or pass the corresponding test.
- Hold a valid class B driver’s license and a signed commitment to carry weapons.
- Pay the examination fee of €35, with exemptions for unemployed persons without benefits or those with a disability equal to or greater than 33%.
Applications may be submitted to the City Council’s general registry or through any of the means provided by Law 39/2015, within a period of 10 business days starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the DOGC, due to the urgency of filling the positions.
Phases of the Selection Process
The process combines an examination phase (60% of the score) and a merit phase (40%). The examination phase consists of six exercises:
- Catalan language test (B2 level), graded as pass or fail.
- General knowledge test (30 points), with 60 multiple-choice questions.
- Theoretical-practical test (30 points) on the syllabus of Annex I.
- Physical fitness test, with five sub-tests.
- Psychotechnical test, with aptitude and personality tests.
- Medical examination, to verify the absence of medical exclusions.
The competition phase assesses seniority, qualifications, professional training, knowledge of Catalan, and distinctions, and includes a competency-based interview. Candidates who pass the process must complete the Basic Training Course of the Public Security Institute of Catalonia (ISPC) and a 12-month internship period in the municipality before being appointed as career civil servants.
Impact for candidates
The call for applications represents a significant job opportunity for local police candidates in the Selva region, at a time when the City Council wishes to reduce the structural temporality of the workforce and have an agile instrument to fill vacancies. The job bank and additional positions expand the possibilities of access beyond the three initial positions, although the filling of these additional positions will be conditional on the existence of a vacancy, budgetary availability, and inclusion in the corresponding job offers.
