Por FactBox Admin

The Sarria City Council has opened five open competitive examination processes to fill fifteen public employment positions, twelve of which are for permanent-seasonal staff. The call was approved by the mayor, Claudio M. Garrido Martínez, through decrees 2026-1569, 2026-1570, 2026-1574, 2026-1579, and 2026-1580, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 243, dated October 23, 2026, with references R. 2847 to R. 2851. Applications may be submitted within a period of twenty calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the call announcement in the BOE.
The positions are included in the 2023 Public Employment Offer (OPE) of the Sarria council and respond to a process declared urgent by Decree 2026-1604, dated October 15, 2026, which the council itself published in the BOP no. 241, dated October 21. The full rules are displayed on the notice board and on the transparency portal of the municipal electronic office (https://sarria.sedelectronica.es), the channel through which the lists of admitted candidates and subsequent calls will also be disseminated.
Fifteen positions divided into five categories
- Six positions for local road operators, permanent-seasonal staff for eight months a year (Group V, contribution group 10), corresponding to positions 03.02.37 to 03.02.42 of the job list. Decree 2026-1569, dated September 8, 2026 (R. 2847).
- Two tractor driver positions, also permanent-seasonal for eight months a year (Group V), assigned to positions 03.02.35 and 03.02.36. Decree 2026-1570, dated September 8, 2026 (R. 2848).
- Five positions for parks and gardens operators, permanent-seasonal for four months a year (Group V), positions 03.02.43 to 03.02.47. Decree 2026-1580, dated October 9, 2026 (R. 2849).
- One position for a tourist information officer as a career civil servant, Special Administration scale, Technical sub-scale, subgroup C1, position 02.03.04. Decree 2026-1579, dated October 9, 2026 (R. 2850).
- One position for a tourist information officer as permanent-seasonal staff for four months a year, contribution group 5, position 02.03.05. Decree 2026-1574, dated October 8, 2026 (R. 2851).
Requirements, fees, and submission of applications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, hold a school certificate or equivalent qualification, possess the functional capacity for the position, and hold a class B driver’s license. For the operator and tractor driver processes, Celga 1 or equivalent is required; for the tourist information officer, Celga 4. For the two tourism positions, qualifications such as higher technician in tourist information and marketing, higher technician in tourist guiding, information and assistance, technician in tourist enterprises and activities, a degree or diploma in tourism, a professional certificate in local tourism promotion, or directly related university degrees are accepted.
The examination fee amounts to 12.00 euros for the operator and tractor driver processes and 24.00 euros for the tourist information officer, to be deposited into the municipal account ES4320800143363110000018. Along with the application, a copy of the DNI, a responsible declaration of compliance with requirements, a list of merits with supporting documents, academic qualification and, depending on the case, a driver’s license and Galician language certificate must be provided.
Two phases, thirty points and employment pools
The opposition phase is worth a maximum of 30 points and consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire of 20 questions plus three reserve questions, with a duration of 30 minutes, in which each correct answer adds 0.75 points and each error subtracts 0.05. This is followed by a practical content test valued at 15 points and a Galician language exercise qualified as fit or unfit, from which those who prove the corresponding Celga are exempt. To pass the opposition, 15 points must be achieved between the first and second exercises.
The competition phase values up to 20 points: services provided in local administration in the same position score 0.30 per month (maximum 5), those provided in other administrations in the same category 0.10 per month (maximum 4), and those performed in any position 0.02 per month (maximum 1). Specific training courses provide up to 9 points and those in related subjects up to 1. Each process also creates an employment pool to cover interim positions, with three telephone calls spaced half an hour apart and publication of movements on the electronic headquarters.
The closing of the application period will open a calendar of provisional lists, amendments of ten business days, and the constitution of tribunals that will extend over the coming months. For Sarria, the call consolidates sensitive municipal services —maintenance of neighborhood roads, gardens, and tourist assistance in a municipality crossed by the Camino de Santiago— and represents one of the largest local public employment offers of the year in the south of the province of Lugo.
