Santa Amalia announces a vacancy for Local Police Officer via mobility

The City Council of Santa Amalia (Badajoz) has announced selective tests for the provision, as career civil service personnel, of one position as a Local Police Officer through the mobility access system and the merit-based selection system. The call was approved by Mayoral resolution on September 22, 2026, and the rules are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz No. 184, dated September 25, 2026, in Announcement 3719/2026. The position is vacant within the civil service staff and was included in the 2026 public employment offer.

One basic scale position reserved for active police officers

The announced position corresponds to the Special Administration scale, Special Services sub-scale, Local Police class, Basic scale, Officer category. The process is supported by Article 55 of Law 7/2017, of August 1, on the Coordination of Local Police of Extremadura, and is further governed by Decree 64/2022, of June 8, on the selection, provision, and mobility of Extremaduran local police, and by Decree 218/2009, of October 9, on Framework Rules.

The 2026 public employment offer was approved by Mayoral resolution 2026-0424, dated July 23, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura No. 149, dated August 4, 2026. The positions are endowed with the basic remuneration of group C, subgroup C1, and level 19 of the destination supplement.

Applicants must meet, among other requirements:

• Be career civil service personnel of a Local Police corps or staff of any municipality in Extremadura, with the category of Officer or Official.
• Not be in a situation of suspension of duties.
• Accredit at least three years of active service in the corps of origin.
• Have a minimum of three years remaining before transitioning to secondary activity by own request.
• Have no criminal record for intentional crimes and not have been dismissed from service or disqualified.
• Hold driving licenses for classes A2 and B.

Twenty business days and a 25 euro fee

The deadline for submitting applications is twenty business days from the day following the publication of the call announcement in the Official State Gazette, once the rules have been published in full in the provincial gazette and on the municipal electronic office. Applications should preferably be submitted electronically, using a digital certificate, electronic ID, or Cl@ve.

The examination fees amount to 25.00 euros and are to be paid into account ES4230090025551142256526, at Caja Rural de Extremadura. The absence of the payment receipt within the deadline will result in exclusion from the process.

Merit scale: up to 10.50 points

The assessment of merits reaches a maximum of 10.50 points, with the following breakdown:

• Professional experience: up to 4 points, at a rate of 0.025 points per full month and a cap of 160 months.
• Academic training: up to 1 point (doctorate 1.00; degree 0.75; technical degree 0.50; master’s 0.25).
• Continuing education: up to 3 points, with a maximum of 3,000 teaching hours at 0.001 points per hour.
• Teaching: up to 0.50 points, with a cap of 250 hours at 0.002 points per hour.
• Decorations: up to 0.25 points.
• Work-life balance: up to 1.50 points.

No specific merits are established. The verification of psychophysical conditions is carried out via a medical certificate no older than two months.

Board, appointment and appeals

The Evaluating Board will consist of five members —chairperson, secretary with voice but no vote, and three members— along with their respective alternates, and will guarantee a balanced representation of men and women. Trade unions with a presence on the Public Employees Negotiation Table may appoint observers throughout the process.

The selected person will be appointed by resolution of the Mayor, Raquel Castaño Peña, with publication in the Official Gazette of Extremadura, and must take office within a maximum period of fifteen days. Against the rules, which exhaust the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Courts of Mérida within two months.

The call opens a transfer route for agents and officers of the Extremaduran local police seeking to change their destination without going through an open competitive process, and reinforces the municipal force of Santa Amalia with personnel already trained and in active service.
