Por FactBox Admin

The Canarian Health Service has appointed permanent statutory staff to vacant basic positions across six categories, both healthcare and management, as part of the exceptional selection process for the stabilization of temporary employment. The decision is formalized in six resolutions dated September 17, 2026, signed by the Secretary General, María Jesús López-Neira de la Torre, acting on behalf of the Director (Order No. 599/2026, of August 28, 2026), and published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 195, of September 29, 2026 (documents No. 3357 to 3362).
The framework: the stabilization called in 2022
The resolutions culminate the exceptional selection process for the stabilization of temporary employment (competitive examination/merit-based) called by the Resolution of December 23, 2022, from the General Directorate of Human Resources of the Canarian Health Service, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 255, of December 29, 2022, in execution of the extraordinary public employment offers of Law 20/2021, of December 28.
The appointment is issued under Article 20.3 of Decree 123/1999, of June 17, regarding the selection of statutory personnel and the provision of basic positions. The appointment proposals were submitted by the General Directorate of Human Resources through resolutions No. 4732/2026, 4733/2026, 4734/2026, 4723/2026, 4735/2026, and 4731/2026, all dated August 27, 2026, after the final results of the merit phase and the list of offered positions were approved, for which the application form was submitted between August 3 and 14, 2026.

Fifteen non-extendable days to take office
The period is 15 non-extendable calendar days from the day following publication, in application of the urgency processing declared by Resolution No. 3496/2025, of the Director of the Servicio Canario de la Salud (Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 210, of October 23, 2025). Taking office is carried out before the management or general management of the destination, with a DNI, NIE, or passport.
Anyone who does not take office within the deadline loses all rights derived from the process, except for an alleged and justified cause appreciated by the Dirección General de Recursos Humanos; unfilled positions will be included in a second allocation by strict order of precedence. Those in a situation of temporary disability may defer their incorporation until medical discharge, and those who are already permanent in another category may opt for a leave of absence for the provision of services in the public sector.
Personnel who gain access via Law 20/2021 may not obtain a service commission outside the Servicio Canario de la Salud for two years from taking office, except for proven causes of gender-based or terrorist violence. The termination of interim personnel or those without a definitive destination is governed by the Order of March 30, 2017, of the Consejería de Sanidad.
Appeals against resolutions
An administrative appeal may be filed against each resolution before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands or, optionally, a request for reversal may be filed before the Director of the Canarian Health Service within one month from the day following its publication.
The publication consolidates the staff of the Canarian Health Service with 21 new permanent statutory employees and triggers the termination of the interim personnel who occupied those positions, in addition to establishing the schedule for appointments in hospitals and primary care managements across the two provinces.
