San Lorenzo de Calatrava urgently announces a vacancy for an administrative assistant
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of San Lorenzo de Calatrava (Ciudad Real) has urgently and immediately announced a vacancy for an Administrative Assistant via the appointment of an interim civil servant, as well as the creation of a job bank. The call is approved by Mayoral Resolution number 2026/173, dated October 5, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 192, corresponding to Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The deadline for submitting applications is five business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement.
A single position in the municipal staff
The announced position is the only one existing within the staff of the City Council of San Lorenzo de Calatrava under the General Administration scale, a circumstance that explains the urgency declared in the resolution. Its characteristics are:
- Group: C.
- Subgroup: C2.
- Designation: Administrative Assistant.
- Number of vacancies: 1.
- Required qualification: Compulsory Secondary Education degree or equivalent.
- Method of provision: competition (concurso).
- Working day: full-time.
The process is governed by Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, and by the consolidated text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, in addition to the applicable local government regulations.
Requirements and submission of applications
Applicants must meet the standard requirements: Spanish nationality—or as provided for in article 39 of Law 4/2011—, functional capacity, be at least 16 years old and not exceed the compulsory retirement age, not be disqualified or dismissed through disciplinary proceedings, and hold a Compulsory Secondary Education graduate degree. No examination fee is required.
Applications, following the official model in Annex I, shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office-Presidency and should preferably be submitted via the general electronic registry, through the municipal electronic office hosted by the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real (https://pase.dipucr.es/096-san-lorenzo-de-calatrava). They may also be delivered to the General Registry of the City Council, at Plaza de Cervantes, 6, 13779 San Lorenzo de Calatrava, or through any of the channels specified in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. Those who choose the latter option must notify the council on the same day via email at slorenzoc@local.jccm.es.
Scoring of the competition and job bank
The selection system is a merit-based competition, with a maximum score of 20 points:
- Professional experience: up to 14 points. Services in Local Administrations in assistant or administrative positions are valued at 0.15 points per full month (maximum 9 points), and services provided in other Public Administrations are valued at 0.08 points per month (maximum 5 points).
- Training and professional development courses: up to 6 points, at a rate of 0.006 points per hour, provided they are organized or approved by territorial Public Administrations and cover subjects directly related to the position.
The assessment will refer to the date of publication of the rules in the Official Provincial Gazette. Based on the result, a job pool will be formed, ordered by score, which will serve for the immediate filling of the position and for future interim appointments. The pool will remain in effect indefinitely until it is exhausted or until the City Council creates another to replace it.
Tribunal, appointment and appeals
The Qualifying Tribunal will be appointed by the Mayor’s Office and will consist of a Presidency, a Secretariat, and three members, with their respective alternates; it cannot be constituted without the attendance of at least three members. An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against its agreements before the Mayor’s Office-Presidency within one month.
The interim appointment will be made by the Mayor’s Office in favor of the person proposed by the Tribunal, who must take office and join immediately. Against the call and its rules, which exhaust the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) may be filed within one month or, directly, a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Court of First Instance, Contentious-Administrative Section, of Ciudad Real.
The call offers an immediate job opportunity in the public sector for job seekers in the region, but the margin is minimal: only five business days from publication. However, the urgency declared by the City Council and the creation of a job pool extend the effect of the measure beyond the specific vacancy, by leaving the door open for future interim calls.
