Salt announces a competitive examination for two administrative positions

The Salt City Council has approved, by mayoral decree of August 20, 2026, the rules and the call for the selection process for the permanent filling of two positions in the general administration scale, subgroup C1, category administrative assistant, for career civil servant personnel, through the open competitive examination system. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (BOPG) no. 164, of August 26, 2026, edict 7536, and in summarized form in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) and the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The two positions are included in the 2024 Public Employment Offer, published in DOGC no. 9228 of August 16, 2024, and in the 2026 Public Employment Offer, published in DOGC no. 9669 of May 20, 2026. The process is carried out in compliance with article 90 of Decree 214/1990, of July 30, and Royal Decree 896/1991, of June 7, which establishes the basic rules and minimum selection programs for Local Administration civil servants.

Job characteristics and requirements

The job corresponds to the category of administrative assistant, general administration scale, administrative sub-scale, with destination level 17, full-time of 35 hours per week, and an access system by open turn. The main functions include the processing and monitoring of administrative files, the management of databases and computer applications, and the maintenance of archives and documentation.

To be admitted, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a national of a European Union member state or a state with free movement of workers, or a spouse or descendant in the provided cases.
  • Have reached 16 years of age and not exceed the compulsory retirement age, and have the functional capacity for the position.
  • Possess a Baccalaureate, Technical degree or equivalent, with homologation if obtained abroad.
  • Accredit knowledge of the Catalan language at level C1 or higher, or be exempt in the provided cases.
  • Pay the examination fee of €13.00, via transfer to the CaixaBank account ES84 2100 0282 0002 0023 9913.

Selection process and competition phase

The process combines an examination phase, with a maximum of 23 points, and a competition phase, with a maximum of 7 points. The examination phase consists of six exercises:

  • Theoretical knowledge test (maximum 5 points, minimum 2.5).
  • Practical knowledge test (maximum 5 points, minimum 2.5).
  • Resolution of practical cases (maximum 10 points, minimum 5).
  • Catalan language test, graded as pass or fail.
  • Psychotechnical test, of an eliminatory nature.
  • Interview on professional competencies (maximum 3 points), non-eliminatory.

The competition phase evaluates professional experience (up to 4 points), training courses (up to 2 points), higher academic qualifications (up to 0.5 points), knowledge of Catalan at level C2 (0.5 points), and other merits such as the ACTIC (up to 0.25 points). Selected individuals must complete a six-month internship period before being appointed as career civil servants.

Deadlines and job bank

The deadline for submitting applications will be 10 business days starting from the day after the publication of the call in the DOGC, following publication in the BOP and the BOE. Applications may be submitted electronically, using a digital certificate, or in paper format at the general registry of the Salt City Council.

In application of Additional Provision 30a of Decree 1/1997, of October 31, an additional number of up to five positions will be included to cover future vacancies in the category under the public offers of 2027 and 2028. The job bank, formed by candidates who pass the first and second exercises, will have a maximum validity of two years, extendable by mayoral decree for up to two more years.

The call, signed by Mayor Cristina Alarcón Piedra, opens a relevant opportunity for candidates in the Girona district, in a process that combines the stabilization of the municipal workforce with the creation of a job bank to provide an agile response to the staffing needs of the different areas of the Salt City Council.
