Ripollet announces an urgent job bank for social workers via competitive examination

The Ripollet City Council has opened an urgent call to establish a job bank for social workers of subgroup A2, through a competitive examination process in the open access turn. The call and the regulatory bases were approved by Mayoral Decree 2026/2773, dated August 4, 2026, and were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on September 10, 2026, with reference CVE 202610139453 and file 2026/9193.
Purpose and characteristics of the position
The purpose of the job bank is to cover, on an urgent basis, the need for appointments of interim civil servant personnel or temporary contracts derived from substitutions, interim positions, or other temporary circumstances. The job position is assigned to the Area of Services for People, Social Rights department, and its validity will be two years from the resolution of the final list, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
The appointment will be interim or a temporary labor contract, with a probationary period of up to six months. The functions include individual, family, and community social care, the management of benefits and resources, and intervention in areas such as basic social services, dependency, childhood, the elderly, housing, gender-based violence, or migration.
Requirements and submission of applications
Applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:
- Hold a university degree in Social Work or an equivalent diploma, or be in a position to obtain it by the end of the term.
- Accredit C1 level of Catalan from the General Directorate of Linguistic Policy or equivalent.
- Non-Spanish citizens must accredit a B2 level of knowledge of Spanish.
- Pay the registration fee of €25 via self-assessment on the electronic office portal.
Applications should preferably be submitted electronically, and the deadline will be 10 business days starting from the day after publication in the BOPB. They can also be submitted in person at the Citizen Service Office (carrer Balmes, 4) or at any electronic registry of a public administration.
Selection process
The process consists of an examination phase and a merit assessment phase, with all tests being mandatory and eliminatory:
- Exercise 1: C1 level Catalan knowledge test, graded as pass or fail.
- Additional exercise: Spanish test for those who do not have Spanish nationality, consisting of a 200-word essay and a conversation with the tribunal.
- Exercise 2: A questionnaire of 60 multiple-choice questions (40 from the syllabus of annex 1 and 20 practical cases), with a duration of 90 minutes and a minimum score of 50 out of 100.
In the competition phase, the ACTIC certificate will be valued, with 1 point for the intermediate level and 2 points for the advanced level. The qualifying tribunal will consist of a president, two members, and a secretary, with the corresponding substitutes.
