The Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 164, dated August 28, 2026, publishes the resolution of the Territorial Department of the Ministry of Employment, Trade and Emigration in A Coruña, which registers and orders the publication of the new collective agreement of FCC Medio Ambiente, SAU for the personnel assigned to the urban solid waste and assimilable waste management service of the Serra do Barbanza association of municipalities. The text, effective from 2023-2027, was signed on August 25, 2026, by the director of the department, Juan José Couce Prego, and corresponds to announcement number 2026/5611.

The documentation entered the registry and deposit of collective agreements, collective labor agreements, and equality plans of the Autonomous Community of Galicia (REGCON) on July 9, 2026. Following the review and corresponding amendment, the processing was completed under Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, of the Workers’ Statute, and Royal Decree 713/2010, of May 28, regarding the registration and deposit of agreements.

The agreement has a duration of five years, from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2027, and the economic conditions come into force on January 1, 2026. The working day is set at 37.5 hours of effective work per week.

Salary increases and arrears

The text includes the agreed increases for the entire period of validity:

  • 2023: 1.7% consolidable over the 2022 tables (already paid).
  • 2024: 9.8% consolidable over the 2023 tables, with arrears in lump-sum payments in November 2026 and May 2027.
  • 2025: lump-sum payment of 400 euros, linear and non-consolidable, paid in the May 2026 payroll.
  • 2026: 3.5% over the 2025 tables.
  • 2027: 2% over the 2026 tables.

The remunerations for 2026 and 2027 will be reviewed if the actual CPI as of December 31 exceeds the agreed increase, with retroactive effects from January 1 of the reference year.

Economic conditions and supplements

The attached salary table details the salaries by job position, grouped into three professional groups: Management, Administration, and Operators. Notable supplements include the attendance bonus, the collection bonus, the transport bonus, the singularity supplement for toxic, arduous, and dangerous work (TPP), and the specialty bonus. Night shift pay is paid at 30% of the base salary per hour worked between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Extraordinary bonuses for summer, Christmas, and benefits are paid at a rate of 35 days of base salary each. Per diems are compensated at 40 euros per full day and 12 euros per lunch or dinner. The company guarantees an accident policy of 20,000 euros and a life insurance policy of 9,000 euros.

Permits, licenses, and union rights

The agreement regulates up to six days of unpaid leave per year and a wide range of paid licenses, including twenty days for marriage, five days for the death or serious illness of relatives, and three days for the birth or adoption of a child. A fund of 12,000 euros is also created for personal loans of up to 1,000 euros per worker in cases of urgent need.

Regarding union matters, the company will deduct the union fee from the payroll at the request of the workers, and the rights of union sections are extended to companies with 50 or more workers. Social representation is composed of the union sections CIG, CC.OO., UGT, and independent.

Scope and subrogation

The scope of application also extends to the urban solid waste management services of the municipalities of Rois and Pontecesures, which were part of the association at the date the agreement came into effect. The agreement provides for the subrogation of personnel in the event of a change in ownership or contract rescue, with the absorption of workers by the new winning company under the same economic and labor conditions.

The publication of this agreement provides legal certainty to the working conditions of all personnel assigned to the waste collection and treatment service of the Barbanza region, in a sector of high social and environmental sensitivity. The salary tables and the increases agreed upon until 2027 offer a predictable framework for both the workers and the company granted the service concession.
