Por FactBox Admin

The Pájara City Council has approved the final qualification of the selection process to fill eight firefighter positions, in execution of Judgment number 92/2026 of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands. The resolution, signed by the mayor-president Alejandro Jesús Jorge Moreno on October 9, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 124, of October 16, 2026 (announcement 3.335, reference 2.111.257).
The announcement reports on the Resolution of the Mayor’s Presidency number 4121/2026, of September 30, issued by delegation of the Delegate Councilor for the areas of Culture, Senior Citizens, Personnel and Human Resources (resolution 2410/2026, of June 3, published in BOP number 68, of June 8, 2026). The text declares the selection procedure finalized in accordance with Judgment number 92/2026, of February 26, 2026, of the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, issued in procedure 213/2025 and final since April 23, 2026.
The positions—group/subgroup C2, civil servant status and full-time—stem from the temporary employment stabilization offer approved by Mayor’s Resolution number 3492, of May 12, 2022 (BOP number 60, of May 20, and BOC number 102, of May 25, 2022), rectified by Resolution number 3498, of May 13, 2022, under Law 20/2021, of December 28. The specific rules were approved by Resolution number 6344/2022, of November 16, and the call for applications was published in full in BOP number 141, of November 23, 2022, with an extract in the Official State Gazette number 291, of December 5, 2022.
The new professional experience scale
The execution of the ruling required the merit assessment to be redone. By Resolution of the Mayor’s Presidency number 2945/2026, of June 30, the new substitute wording for General Rule 8.1 and Specific Rule 7.1 was approved, which establish the scoring for professional experience:
- Services provided from January 1, 2016, until the end of the application period: 0.65 points per full month (maximum 50 points).
- Services between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2015: 0.600 points per full month (maximum 30 points).
- Services between January 1, 2002, and December 31, 2008: 0.36 points per full month (maximum 10 points).
The Selection Board approved the minutes with the order of qualifications on September 15, 2026.
Seven applicants tied for first place
The final list, consisting of 31 applicants, is headed by seven candidates with an identical total score of 89.40 points (79.40 for professional experience and 10 for training and improvement courses):
- Matías Antequera Martín
- Alexis Blanco Díaz
- Juan Jesús Guerra Vicaíno
- David Chedey Hernández Pérez
- Iván Pérez Castellano
- Jerónimo Torres Jiménez
- Matías García Santana
The eighth place on the list corresponds to Iván Mari Bestard, with 70.60 points, followed by Juan Manuel Sánchez Reyes (68.00) and Alejandro Gutiérrez Hamed (43.15).
The rest of the list
Below them are Francisco Miguel Gutiérrez Perdomo and Adrián José Sánchez Reyes, both with 28.85 points; Jon Díaz De Otazu Díaz (23.70); Jorge Florencio Hernández Cabrera and Luis Arráe Solé (17.20); Jamido Mohamed Acosta (16.50); Daniela Flore (14.55), and Pedro José Montesdeoca Suárez (11.30). With 10.00 points —no accredited experience and 10 points for training— eleven applicants appear: Jacobo David Aguiar González, Jamie Bussian Mohand, Carlos Jerobel Campos Gil, José Marcelino García Ortega, Miguel Ángel López Gil, José Nichel Marichal Bolaños, Juan Jesús Martínez Morera, Manuel Pérez Medina, Daniel Ramírez Álamo, Juan Manuel Rodríguez Salinas, and Antonio Ramón Santana Umpiérrez. Closing the list are José Antonio Espino Martel and Iván Suárez Díaz, with 0.00 points.
The resolution orders the agreement to be published on the municipal notice boards, on the website www.pajara.es, and in the BOP, as well as notifying the interested parties stating the relevant appeals.
The closing of the process ends a stabilization procedure initiated in 2022 and conditioned by the ruling of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands. The tie of seven applicants in the first position leaves the assignment of destinations and the order of precedence pending the tie-breaking criteria set by the Administration, while the staff of the Pájara fire station is defined with eight permanent positions.
