Sergas appoints 28 administrative function professionals as permanent staff

The General Directorate of Human Resources of the Galician Health Service (Sergas) has appointed as permanent statutory staff the 28 selected candidates from the competitive examination for entry into the technical group and management group categories of the administrative function, and has assigned them definitive destinations. The decision was adopted by means of the Resolution of August 25, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 169, on Monday, September 7, 2026, on page 48167.

The process began with the Resolution of December 19, 2023, which called for the competitive examination (DOG no. 241, of December 21). Subsequently, the Resolution of June 15, 2026 (DOG no. 144, of August 3) published the final list of selected persons and opened a period of ten business days for the electronic selection of destinations through the Fides/expedient-e system, in order of precedence.

Appointment and definitive destinations

The resolution appoints as permanent statutory staff of Sergas the persons included in Annex I and assigns them, as a definitive destination, the position specified in the same annex. Likewise, it declares the competitive examination finalized, without prejudice to the provisions of base 10.3 of the call.

The assigned positions are distributed among the main hospital complexes and public hospitals of Galicia:

• University Hospital Complex of Vigo
• University Hospital Complex of A Coruña
• University Hospital Complex of Santiago
• University Hospital Complex of Lugo
• University Hospital Complex of Ourense
• University Hospital Complex of Pontevedra
• Architect Marcide Hospital Complex (Ferrol)
• Virxe da Xunqueira Public Hospital (Cee)
• Monforte Public Hospital and Mariña Public Hospital (Burela)

Incorporation period and coverage of vacancies

The appointed persons will have a period of one month, counted from the day following the publication in the DOG, to join the assigned position, with the taking of office at the corresponding management center. The failure to join attributable to the interested person, without justified cause, will result in the forfeiture of the right to obtain the status of permanent statutory staff, although in cases of force majeure, the general directorate may extend the period.

To ensure the coverage of the called positions, the next candidate from the list of approved applicants will be called in cases of resignation, failure to meet requirements, failure to present documentation, failure to choose a position within the period, failure to take office, or being declared on leave without the right to reserve a position.

Mandatory training in equality

In accordance with the second additional provision of Decree 70/2017, of July 13, selected individuals must complete, within a period not exceeding six months from the publication of the appointment, the training activities to obtain the basic level in matters of gender equality and the prevention and fight against gender violence, as provided for in Article 157 of Law 7/2023, of November 30. Those who have already completed this training and have it validated in Fides/expedient-e are exempt.

The resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, may be challenged through an optional appeal for reversal within one month or directly in the contentious-administrative jurisdiction.

The publication represents a decisive step for thousands of applicants who participated in the process and reinforces the coverage of administrative positions in Galician public hospitals, with the effective incorporation of the new professionals within one month.
