Nou conveni col·lectiu del comerç de materials de construcció de Tarragona

The Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona (BOPT) publishes, dated September 15, 2026, the Resolution of September 2, 2026, which provides for the registration and publication of the Collective Labor Agreement for the construction materials sector of the province of Tarragona for the years 2026-2027 (agreement code no. 43001475011996). The text, signed on June 22, 2026, establishes the labor and salary conditions for the entire sector for the next two fiscal years.

The resolution, signed by Maria del Mar Giné Serven, director of Territorial Services in Tarragona of the Department of Enterprise and Labor (e.f.), orders the registration of the agreement in the Registry of collective agreements, collective labor agreements, and equality plans (REGCON) and its publication in the BOPT. The text was submitted on July 27, 2026, by Moisés Berruezo Blanco.

Signing parties and scope of application

The agreement has been negotiated between the Business Association of Construction Materials of the province of Tarragona, on behalf of the employers, and the trade union centers Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption of the UGT of Catalonia (FeSMC-UGT) and the Federation of Services of CCOO of Catalonia, on behalf of the workers. The functional scope covers all companies dedicated to the trade of construction materials, and the territorial scope extends to all workplaces in the province of Tarragona, even if the registered office is located in another province.

The sector specifically includes:

  • Cements, limes, and plasters.
  • Fiber cements and other cement-derived products.
  • Tiles and other ceramic coatings and floors.
  • Plumbing/Sanitation.
  • Construction machinery and tools.

Validity, working hours, and economic conditions

The agreement has a duration of two years, effective from January 1, 2026, until December 31, 2027, and will be tacitly extended year by year starting January 1, 2028, unless terminated. The working day is set at 1,790 hours for 2026 and 1,782 hours for 2027, with a 20-minute break for continuous shifts of five or more hours and the guarantee of one full weekend of rest per month.

Regarding economic conditions, a salary increase of 4.00% is established over the 2025 tables effective from January 1, 2026, and another 4.00% over the 2026 tables effective from January 1, 2027. For example, the monthly base salary for the head of administration increases from €1,838.80 in 2026 to €1,912.35 in 2027, while that of the warehouse assistant increases from €1,221.00 to €1,269.84. It is guaranteed that no gross monthly remuneration shall be lower than the current national minimum wage.

Leaves, vacations, and Joint Committee

Staff will be entitled to 31 calendar days of vacation, to be taken between June and September, and to a wide catalog of paid leaves, notably 17 days for marriage or civil partnership, 5 days for serious illness or hospitalization of relatives, and 2 days for personal matters. For the interpretation and application of the agreement, a Joint Commission is established, consisting of 4 representatives from the employers’ association and 4 from the social partners, which must resolve discrepancies within a period of 7 days.

The publication of this agreement in the BOPT provides legal certainty to the agreed conditions and binds all companies in the construction materials sector of the province, which must apply the new salary tables and the framework for working hours, permits, and contracting as of January 1, 2026. For the workers of the sector, this represents a cumulative salary increase of more than 8% over two years, within a context of strong dynamism in construction activity in the region.
