Motril convoca oposición libre para cubrir seis plazas de bombero

The Motril City Council has approved the rules governing the call for six Firefighter positions through the open competitive examination system and new entry shift, as career civil servants. The approval resolution was issued on October 20, 2026, and bears the signature of the mayor, Luisa María García Chamorro. The rules are published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Granada number 206, dated October 23, 2026, with the official reference BOP-GRA-2026-206014.

The positions are classified under the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Fire Extinction Service Class, Operational Scale, Firefighter category, Group C, Subgroup C1. The call is divided among three different public employment offers, which requires each vacancy to be identified in the application and in the sworn statement accompanying the process.

Six vacancies from three employment offers

The distribution of positions by source year is as follows:

  • One (1) Firefighter position from the 2024 OEP, vacancy number 2313.
  • Two (2) Firefighter positions from the 2025 OEP, vacancy numbers 176 and 2454.
  • Three (3) Firefighter positions from the 2026 OEP, vacancy numbers 2429, 2451, and 2460.

The territorial scope of the convening service, the SPEIS of Motril, includes the municipalities of Motril, Salobreña, Torrenueva Costa, and the ELA Carchuna-Calahonda, according to the specific syllabus included in the annex of the call. The process is governed, among other regulations, by Decree 36/2025, of February 11, regarding access to fire prevention, extinction, and rescue services of Andalusia, and by Law 5/2023, of June 7, of the Public Service of Andalusia.

Twenty business days deadline and fee of 83.88 euros

The deadline for submitting applications and paying the fee is twenty (20) business days starting from the day following the publication of the call announcement in the Official State Gazette. Applications should preferably be submitted through the municipal electronic office (sede.motril.es), although they are also accepted at the General Registry or through the channels established in article 16 of Law 39/2015.

The main requirements that must be met on the closing date of the period and maintained until the assumption of office are:

  • Spanish nationality, in accordance with article 19.1.a) of Decree 36/2025.
  • To be at least sixteen years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
  • Bachiller (High School) degree, Technician degree, or equivalent.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license and commitment to drive official service vehicles.
  • Functional capacity accredited by a medical examination.
  • Payment of the fee of 83.88 euros, which includes the cost of the medical examination, with a 100% reduction for job seekers with a minimum seniority of six months and a 50% reduction for other registered unemployed persons.

Four eliminatory exercises and entry course

The competitive phase consists of four mandatory and eliminatory tests. The first is a multiple-choice questionnaire of 100 questions, with five reserves, which must be completed in a maximum of 110 minutes and requires a minimum of 5 points out of 10. The second is a psychotechnical assessment of aptitudes and personality, graded as fit or unfit. The third measures physical fitness with pull-up tests —minimum 12 repetitions—, a 100-meter sprint, a 1,500-meter run, and 100-meter freestyle swimming. The fourth is a medical examination adjusted to the exclusion table of Decree 36/2025.

Candidates who pass the competition will be appointed as trainee civil servants and must complete a selective course taught or approved by the Andalusian Institute of Emergencies and Public Safety (IESPA) or by a local fire school. If the conditions for that course do not exist, the minimum training will be 300 to 700 hours at the Motril fire station. The complete process may not exceed six months from the first test.

Qualifying Tribunal

The selection body will be presided over by Emilio López Fernández, head of the SPEIS of Motril, with Francisco Javier Infante Castro as substitute. The tribunal is completed by:

  • Miguel Pérez García, head of the Guadix fire station, as titular member, with Javier Fornieles García as substitute.
  • Álvaro Ballesteros Martínez de la Cámara, staffing head of the SPEIS of Motril, with Baldomero Álvarez Samaniego as substitute.
  • Esther López Vega, prevention technician, with Ana Isabel Herrero Torrecillas as substitute.
  • Josefa Rodríguez Herrera, technical architect, with María Mercedes Flores Millán as substitute.
  • Antonia Villa Blanco, head of the Personnel Selection Office, as titular secretary, with Rosario María García Carmona as substitute.

Against the rules, which end the administrative route, an appeal for reversal may be filed within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance based in Granada within two months, counted from the day following its publication in the provincial bulletin.

The call for applications reinforces the municipal park staff of Motril with six new personnel and opens a stable opportunity for Group C1 candidates on the Granadine coast, where the service covers four municipalities.
