Montehermoso amplía la Oferta de Empleo 2026: nueva plaza de Arquitecto Técnico

The Montehermoso City Council has expanded its Public Employment Offer for the 2026 fiscal year with a new position for a Technical Architect, according to Mayor’s Resolution No. 2026-1650, dated October 9, 2026. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres No. 0197, dated October 14, 2026, with official reference BOP-2026-4801. This measure anticipates the filling of a position that will become vacant due to the retirement of its holder on December 8.

The expansion is processed as a modification of the Public Employment Offer initially approved by Mayor’s Resolution No. 2026-0363, dated March 11, 2026, published in the BOP No. 0050, dated March 13, 2026 (BOP-2026-1009), with a subsequent correction in the BOP No. 0051, dated March 16, 2026 (BOP-2026-1028). The municipal file is 363/2026.

The invoked regulation is the consolidated text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30 (articles 69 and 70), together with article 91 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime. The authority to approve the offer corresponds to the Mayor’s Office in accordance with article 21.1.g) of the same law.

A vacancy arising from retirement

The origin of the expansion is the ordinary retirement by age of the career civil servant occupying the position of Municipal Technical Architect, requested on September 29, 2026. The last day of active service will be December 7, 2026, and the effects of the retirement are set from December 8, 2026.

The current Job Position List, whose last modification was approved by the Plenary in the session of December 29, 2025, describes position No. 9 with these characteristics:

  • Designation: Technical Architect.
  • Nature: civil servant, subgroup A2.
  • Scale: Special Administration, Technical Subscale.
  • Destination supplement: level 26.
  • Working day: full-time.

The City Council emphasizes that the operation does not involve the creation of a new position nor the alteration of its characteristics, functions, or remunerative conditions.

Union negotiation and scope of the expansion

The Mayor’s proposal was formulated on October 5, 2026, and was submitted to the General Negotiation Table, convened by Mayor’s Resolution No. 2026-1609, dated October 5, 2026, for the session held on October 9. Following explanations from the Mayor’s Office and the Secretariat and interventions by union representatives, the Table expressed its agreement by unanimity of those present.

The incorporated position will be filled under these conditions:

  • Selection system: competitive examination (concurso-oposición).
  • Shift: open/free.
  • Number of positions: one.

The rest of the offer’s content remains unchanged, with the positions initially offered for General Administration Technician and Works Supervisor remaining included.

Conditional coverage and deadlines

The resolution conditions the appointment and taking of office of the selected candidate upon the prior occurrence of the vacancy due to the retirement of the current holder. The call for the position must be carried out within the legally provided period in article 70.1 of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.

The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Rosa Isabel Garrido Hernández, and orders its publication in the BOP of Cáceres, the notice board, and the municipal electronic office, with notification to the Secretariat, Intervention, and Personnel services. Against the resolution, which ends the administrative route, the following are possible:

  • Optional appeal for reversal before the Mayor’s Office, within a period of one month.
  • Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court, within a period of two months.

The extension allows the City Council to prematurely initiate the approval of the rules and the call for the selection process, so that the municipal technical services are not left without ordinary coverage after the December retirement. For candidates, it represents a new public employment opportunity in the province of Cáceres, although effective access to the position will be linked to the date on which the vacancy occurs.
