The hospitality sector of the province of A Coruña has already registered and published the mediation agreement that sets its labor conditions for the coming years. The Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 197, dated October 15, 2026, contains the resolution of the Territorial Directorate of Employment, Trade and Emigration of A Coruña ordering the registration of the agreement in the regional registry and its publication, under announcement number 2026/6550 and file AGA 97/26.
The resolution, signed in A Coruña on October 8, 2026, by the territorial director Juan José Couce Prego, responds to the request submitted on October 7, 2026, to the Registry of Collective Labor Agreements and Accords of the Autonomous Community of Galicia (REGCON). The documentation submitted complies with the requirements of Royal Decree 713/2010, of May 28, and the Order of October 20, 2010, as well as Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, which approves the revised text of the Workers’ Statute Law.
The competence of the Territorial Directorate derives from Decree 42/2024, of April 14, Decree 49/2024, of April 22, and Decree 147/2024, of May 20. The published text is the minutes of the Mediation Commission provided for in article 57 of the Galician Interprofessional Agreement on Extrajudicial Procedures for the Resolution of Labor Conflicts (AGA), published in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 29, of February 12, 2020.
A one-time payment of 500 euros and increases until 2028
The meeting took place at 2:00 PM on October 6, 2026, at the headquarters of the Galician Council of Labor Relations, in Santiago de Compostela, with AGA mediator Jesús Vázquez Forno as the only advisor present. The parties agreed to clarify the agreement reached on August 11, 2026, in a meeting held at the University School of Labor Relations of A Coruña.
Regarding salary matters, the agreement establishes:
- A one-time payment of 500 gross euros, payable no later than October 31, 2026, for workers with contracts in force in 2025, proportional to the contract duration and working hours.
- This amount will not be applied to the salary scales.
- An increase of 3% for 2026, payable by December 31, 2026.
- An increase of 3.5% for 2027 and 3% for 2028, applicable to the salary scales.
- The increases are reviewable according to the CPI of each year, retroactively to January 1 of each fiscal year.
Temporary disability and temporary contracts
Companies covered by the hospitality agreement of the province will pay 100% of the temporary disability supplement according to what is established in the current agreement. The exception affects fixed-term contracts: when the initially agreed term expires, the company will have no obligation to supplement temporary disability due to common illness.
Calendar, social peace and cancellation of the strike
The parties committed to maintaining social peace during the negotiation of the collective agreement until its conclusion. The established schedule includes a new meeting on September 17 at 11:00 AM at the headquarters of the Galician Council of Labor Relations, in Santiago de Compostela. Furthermore, they agreed to issue a joint communication regarding the agreements reached in the AGA to avoid doubts about its content and to proceed with the immediate cancellation of the strike and the called mobilizations.
Who signed the agreement
On the social side, representatives from UGT, CIG, and CCOO participated. On the employers’ side, the following organizations signed:
- Provincial Hotel Association of A Coruña
- Provincial Association of Hospitality Employers of A Coruña
- HOSPECO
- Compostela Hotel Union
- Hospitality Employers Association of Ferrol and Regions
The publication in the BOP provides official publicity and legal certainty to an agreement that binds all companies covered by the hospitality agreement of the province of A Coruña and which comes after a strike that was called and finally cancelled. For the sector’s workers, the text closes a salary schedule until 2028, with an immediate payment of 500 euros and an annual review linked to the CPI, while the negotiation of the collective agreement remains open under a commitment of social peace.
