Por FactBox Admin

The Letur City Council has called for the establishment of a job bank for the temporary coverage of a position as Teacher of the Municipal School of Music and Music Band. The guidelines are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete, number 114, dated September 30, 2026, in the Third Section: Local Administration (pages 26 to 31), with a deadline of five business days to submit applications. The contract is a temporary part-time employment contract, with a workday of 27 hours per week and a gross remuneration of 1,394 euros per month, an amount that includes the prorating of extraordinary payments.
The announcement was signed in Letur on September 24, 2026, by the Mayor-President, Sergio Marín Sánchez, and carries the official reference 24.937. The call is supported by Article 56 of the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, and by the general selection guidelines of the council itself.
A temporary position requiring a higher degree in music
The called position corresponds to contractual modality 510, interim substitution of a worker, and its nature is temporary and part-time. The characteristics detailed in the guidelines are as follows:
- Designation: Teacher of the Municipal School of Music and Music Band.
- Regime: temporary contractual staff.
- Number of vacancies: one.
- Required qualification: Higher Degree in Music, specialty in Performance, or Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Artistic Education in Music, specialty in Performance.
- Selection system: competition (concurso).
Applicants must have Spanish nationality—without prejudice to the provisions of Article 57 of the state regulation—possess the functional capacity to perform the tasks, be at least sixteen years old and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age, as well as not be separated via disciplinary proceedings nor disqualified from public employment.
Merit competition and interview: up to ten points
The selection procedure is a competition, with a maximum score of 10 points divided into three sections. Professional experience is valued up to 5 points, at a rate of 0.15 points for each full month of services provided as a music teacher, music band conductor, or orchestra conductor. Training is scored up to 2 points, depending on the duration of courses related to music, music education, pedagogy, conducting of ensembles, musical methodology, or cultural activities:
- From 20 to 49 hours: 0.10 points.
- From 50 to 99 hours: 0.20 points.
- 100 hours or more: 0.30 points.
The complementary interview provides up to 3 points, and its result is added to the merit assessment to establish the final order of the pool. Applicants who do not reach 5 points will be eliminated, a figure that also constitutes the minimum score to be part of the list. In the event of a tie, priority will be given, successively, to the score in experience, training, and the interview; if the tie persists, it will be resolved by draw.
Five-business-day deadline and two-year validity
Applications, formalized in Annex I, shall be addressed to the Mayor’s Office and submitted via the General Electronic Registry of the City Council or through any of the channels specified in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. The deadline is five business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Provincial Gazette. The full terms and conditions will also be disseminated on the municipal electronic headquarters and on the notice board.
Once the deadline has expired, the Mayor’s Office will issue a resolution within a maximum of 10 days declaring the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates approved, with 3 business days for corrections. The nominal composition of the Qualifying Board will be published along with the final resolution. The resulting pool will be valid for two years from its constitution, unless another is established to replace it or its extension is agreed upon, and it will remain permanently published on the municipal website.
The call and its terms exhaust the administrative route and may be challenged before the Social Jurisdiction within a period of two months.
The call comes at a time when the continuity of municipal music education depends on filling the substitution quickly: the process is resolved entirely by a merit competition and interview, without eliminatory competitive exams, which shortens the timelines. For qualified musicians in the region, the position offers a contract of 27 hours per week and 1,394 gross euros per month, in addition to the possibility of joining a pool with two years of validity for future temporary hires by the Letur City Council.
