La Universidad de Oviedo convoca plazas de personal investigador y técnico

The University of Oviedo has opened a public competition for the hiring of research personnel and technical research support personnel destined for the performance of scientific-technical activities. The call is formalized through the extract of the Resolution of October 7, 2026, of the Vice-Rector for Research of the University of Oviedo, published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) no. 201, of October 16, 2026, with code 2026-08307 and identifier BDNS 934289.

The selection adheres to the hiring modality regulated in article 23.bis of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on Science, Technology and Innovation, as amended by Law 17/2022, of September 5. The extract is published in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database, via the official link associated with identifier 934289.

The call is internally identified as “October extra 1” and is added to the series of analogous calls that the same vice-rector has published in the BOPA during the preceding weeks, under the names August extra and September extra. The number and specific characteristics of the positions offered are specified in Annex I of the call, available on the BDNS electronic office.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants must prove, at a minimum, the following conditions:

  • Hold Spanish nationality or any other to which State regulations attribute equal rights for employment purposes in the Public Administration.
  • Possess the functional capacity for the performance of the tasks.
  • Be at least sixteen years of age and not exceed the compulsory retirement age.
  • Not have been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations or from the constitutional or statutory bodies of the autonomous communities, nor be under absolute or special disqualification for public employment or positions by judicial resolution.
  • Possess the required qualification and meet the specific requirements of the call.

In the case of nationals of non-European Union member states who are not included in the scope of application of the international treaties signed by the European Union and ratified by Spain regarding the free movement of workers, the signing of the contract is conditional upon possessing a residence permit and authorization for employment by a third party at the time of signing.

Deadline and Submission of Applications

The application period is ten business days, and the count begins the day following the publication of the call in the BOPA. The application is submitted electronically via the form enabled on the University of Oviedo website, in the research calls section, and must be accompanied by the following documentation:

  • Copy of the DNI or equivalent document for European Union citizens, passport, or NIE.
  • Copy of the degree or degrees required in the call.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Any documentation necessary to prove specific requirements or for the assessment of merits.

Only merits documented in writing will be assessed, and the submission of merits will not be permitted once the application period has ended. By submitting the candidacy, the transfer of data between the involved public administrations is accepted, in accordance with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights.

Selection process and publications

Generally, by the end of the deadline, applicants must meet both the general requirements for access to public employment set out in Article 56 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, as well as the specific requirements of the advertised position.

Once the application period has ended, the University of Oviedo will publish the provisional lists of admitted and excluded persons on its website and will open a period of five business days for possible corrections or claims. After this period, the final lists of admitted and excluded persons will be published. The extract is signed in Oviedo, on October 7, 2026, by the Vice-Rector for Research.

The call reinforces the attraction of scientific talent in the Principality and offers a stable employment entry route for research and technical personnel, a profile in high demand within the R&D groups of the Asturian academic institution.
