La UEx convoca concurso de méritos para cubrir 103 puestos vacantes

The University of Extremadura has announced a merit-based competition to fill 103 vacant positions for technical, management, and civil service administration and services personnel. The decision was made by the Management of the academic institution, which signed two resolutions on October 13, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) no. 204, dated October 22, 2026, with official references 2026062632 and 2026062633. Applicants have 20 calendar days from the day following publication to submit their application.

Regulatory framework and origin of the call

The two resolutions are issued under the powers delegated to the Management by the Rector of the University of Extremadura via the Resolution of June 1, 2023 (DOE of the 8th). The positions are categorized in the Job Position List at organic level 6, are currently vacant, have budgetary allocation, and the method of provision is through competition.

The applicable framework includes the consolidated text of the Law of the Basic Statute of Public Employees (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015), Law 30/1984 on measures for the reform of the public service, Organic Law 2/2023 of the University System, Law 13/2015 of the Public Service of Extremadura, Decree 43/1996 on the provision of job positions, the Statutes of the University of Extremadura approved by Decree 163/2026, of September 9, and the III Regulatory Agreement on Working Conditions (ARCT) for technical, management, and civil service administration and services personnel.

Two calls and 103 positions

The first resolution (2026062632) groups 68 positions, of which 62 are basic administration positions and six are quality manager positions:

  • Basic administration positions: destination supplement level 18/16, assigned to subgroups C1/C2, scales AG05 (Administrative) and AG06 (Administrative Assistant).
  • Quality manager positions: level 20/18, in the faculties of Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Education and Psychology, Business, Finance and Tourism, the School of Industrial Engineering, and the International Doctoral School.

The second resolution (2026062633) calls for 35 basic general services positions, level 16 and assigned to subgroup C2, scale AG21 (Services Assistant). The destinations are distributed among Badajoz, Cáceres, Mérida, and Plasencia, with morning or split shifts depending on the position. Added to these are the “resultas,” meaning the basic positions that remain vacant as a result of the assignments.

Requirements, deadline, and submission of applications

Career civil servants in the service of the University of Extremadura and those from administrations with reciprocity agreements may apply. Under the Mobility Agreement of the Group 9 Universities, civil servants with a permanent destination in Cantabria, Balearic Islands, Oviedo, Public of Navarra, Zaragoza, and La Rioja may participate, and through bilateral agreements, those from the University of Alicante and the International University of Andalusia.

  • It is required to belong to the subgroup, body, or scale of the position and to certify two years of tenure in the last permanent destination, with the exceptions provided for in the rules.
  • The application period is 20 calendar days from the day following publication, therefore ending on November 11, 2026.
  • Applications are addressed to the Rector and submitted via the ORVE Network or the SARA Electronic Registry, at the General Registry of the University of Extremadura (Avenida de Elvas, Badajoz), or at the Cáceres Campus office.

Scale, commission, and resolution

The evaluation of merits reaches a maximum of 21.5 points: 3 for consolidated personal grade, 7.5 for work developed, 4 for training courses, 6 for seniority, and 1 for work-life balance. Applications that do not reach 0.15 points will not be admitted. The competition is resolved in two phases: first, civil servants from the University of Extremadura are evaluated, and then those from other administrations for the remaining vacant positions.

The Evaluation Commission is chaired by Juan Francisco Panduro López, manager of the university, with Jose Manuel Álvarez Lozano, Fernando Rodríguez Martín, Samanta González Perez, and María del Camino Caballero Posado as full members. Substitutes include José Antonio Perea Ayago (president), Carlos Álvarez Atanes, Víctor Manuel Viñuales Guillén, María Mercedes Mateos Macías, and Francisca María Morgado Sérvolo. The resolution corresponds to the Rectorate within a maximum period of six months and will be published in the DOE; the assumption of office shall be within three business days, or ten if it involves a change of residence.

The competition opens a path for internal mobility and stability for the university’s civil service staff and for those working in other administrations with reciprocity agreements, in a context of administrative staff renewal following the approval of the new Statutes. The simultaneous publication of two calls also expands the destination options at the Badajoz and Cáceres campuses and at the university centers of Mérida and Plasencia.
