The Amer City Council announces a vacancy for a promotion technician

The Amer City Council has opened the selection process to fill one career civil servant position in subgroup A2 (promotion technician), through a competitive examination (concurs-oposició) in the open category. The call, approved by Mayor’s Decree no. 2026DECR000586 of August 26, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (no. 165, edict 7628, of August 27, 2026).

The position, vacant in the municipal staff, is assigned to the special administration scale, special services sub-scale, special commissions class. The announcement, signed by the mayor-president M. Rosa Vila Juanhuix, is made public in compliance with article 76 of Decree 214/1990, of July 30, which regulates personnel in the service of local entities.

The position and remuneration

The selected person will be assigned to the position of promotion technician, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The basic remuneration corresponds to subgroup A2, with a level 22 destination supplement and a specific supplement of €8,533.98 per year.

Among the functions of the position, the design and coordination of municipal promotion activities, the management of subsidies and new funding sources, the supervision of municipal websites and social networks, and the processing of agreements, contracts, and reports stand out. The City Council informs that it is working on the approval of the List of Job Positions and the Job Evaluation, which may change the conditions of the position.

Requirements and submission of applications

To participate, the following requirements must be met by the end of the deadline:

• Hold Spanish nationality or that of a member state of the European Union, or the application of the free movement of workers.
• Possess the C1 level certificate in Catalan and, for foreign nationals, a B2 level in Spanish.
• Hold a university degree in the field of social, economic, and/or legal sciences or equivalent.
• Have paid the examination fee, set at €24.00.

Applications must be submitted within 20 business days starting from the day after the publication of the summary of the call in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC). They can be processed electronically at the City Council registry or in person at plaça de la Vila, 30, Amer, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.

The selection process

The selection system is a competitive examination (concurs-oposició), with a preliminary phase of knowledge of the Catalan and Spanish languages for those who have not accredited them. The examination phase evaluates up to 80 points, distributed in a theoretical test of 60 questions (30 points) and a practical exercise (50 points), followed by a psychotechnical test and the merit competition phase (20 points).

The approximate start period for the tests will be at the end of October 2026. The qualifying tribunal will be collegiate, with the participation of a representative from the Escola d’Administració Pública de Catalunya, and will strive for parity between men and women.

The job bank

All persons who pass the first exercise of the opposition phase and are not appointed will be part of a job bank, ordered by the total score obtained. The job bank, with a validity of two years, will serve to cover future temporary staffing needs of the City Council.
