Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Jerez de la Frontera has approved the call and the rules by which 52 Local Police positions will be filled: 43 via open competition through an examination process and 9 via mobility without promotion through a merit-based competition. The agreement was adopted by the Local Government Board in an extraordinary and urgent session on October 14, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz no. 213, of November 5, 2026 (announcement No. 367.058, pages 6 to 13).
The agreement and its regulatory framework
The positions correspond to the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Basic Scale C1, category of Local Police of the Local Police Corps, in accordance with article 23.1.c) of Law 6/2023, of July 7, on Local Police of Andalusia. They are classified in Group C, Subgroup C1.
They originate from three accumulated public employment offers:
- Fiscal year 2024: Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz no. 246, of December 24, 2024.

- Fiscal year 2026: Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz no. 106, of June 5, 2026.
The agreement was signed by the delegate for Social Inclusion, Dependency, Seniors and Family and Human Resources, Yessika Quintero Palma, on October 21, 2026. The effective incorporation of the selected candidates is subject to the existence of credit in the budget of the corresponding fiscal year.
Deadlines, fee, and registration
The application, payment of the fee, and submission of merits must be presented electronically via the municipal electronic office form (https://www.sedeelectronica.jerez.es/tramites/solicitud_proceso_selectivo).
- Deadline: twenty business days from the day following the publication of the summary of the call in the Official State Gazette.
- Fee: 39.20 euros, according to the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Fee for the Issuance of Administrative Documents.
- Exemptions: persons with a disability equal to or greater than 33%, job seekers for at least one month and with incomes not exceeding the minimum interprofessional wage, and members of large families.

- Mobility requirements: active service in the police category and five years of seniority as a career civil servant; the competition scale reaches a maximum of 120 points.
Five eliminatory tests and entry course
The competitive examination phase consists of five mandatory and eliminatory exercises: a theoretical exam of 100 questions in 120 minutes, a practical exam of 30 questions in 60 minutes, physical fitness, a psychotechnical exam, and a medical exam in accordance with the exclusion table of Decree 8/2026, of January 28. Applicants applying via mobility are exempt from the entry course.
Those who pass the competitive examination will complete the entry course at the Institute of Emergencies and Public Safety of Andalusia or in accredited contracted or municipal schools and, subsequently, three months of internships on staff. The Qualifying Tribunal, consisting of a president, four members, and a secretary, will be appointed by agreement of the Local Government Board, and its composition will be published in the BOP for the purpose of recusals.
Five-year tenure and resignations
The rules establish a minimum tenure period of five years in the municipality where the position is obtained, both for the open call and for mobility, according to articles 43.5 and 52.4 of Law 6/2023. Resigning before completing this period requires the payment of compensation equivalent to twelve months of gross remuneration. Pregnant applicants may postpone the physical tests for up to six months, extendable for another six with medical certification.
A reinforcement for the municipal staff
The call is the largest public employment process published in today’s bulletin and affects both candidates seeking their first position and officers from other Andalusian municipalities interested in changing their destination. The accumulation of three job offers in a single call responds to the effort of the City Council of Jerez de la Frontera to reinforce its local security staff, although the final appointment is subject to the budget credit of the year in which it occurs.
