Guardo approves its 2026 public employment offer with eight positions
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Guardo (Palencia) has approved its public employment offer for the year 2026, consisting of a total of eight positions. The decision was adopted through Mayor’s Resolution number 2026-1510, dated October 2, 2026, and was published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The announcement appears in section III. Local Administration, B. Authorities and Personnel, B.2. Competitive Examinations and Contests, starting on page 167.
The resolution, signed by the mayor-president Juan Jesús Blanco Muñiz, exhausts the administrative route and details the called positions, distributed into three blocks according to the personnel’s link and the access shift. The offer combines new entry positions with others reserved for internal promotion, and includes technical, administrative, and local security profiles.
Eight positions in three blocks
The offer is structured into three distinct sections:
- Civil servant personnel (5 positions): one technical architect (group A2), one human resources technician (A2), two administrative assistants (C2), and one Local Police officer (C2).
- Contractual personnel (1 position): one water meter reader, classified in the professional group (OP).
- Civil servant personnel via internal promotion (2 positions): one General Administration technician (group A1) and one Local Police officer (group C1).
In total, the document lists the offer as eight positions: five for civil servants, one for contractual personnel, and two for internal promotion.
Technical and security profiles
The most significant block corresponds to new entry civil servant personnel, with five positions ranging from mid-level technical posts to administrative assistant and Local Police categories. Notable are the two group A2 positions—technical architect and human resources technician—along with the two administrative assistant positions and the Local Police officer position, both in group C2.
The only contractual personnel position is reserved for a water meter reader, within the professional group. For its part, internal promotion incorporates a General Administration technician position in group A1, and another for a Local Police officer in C1, allowing for the progression of personnel already linked to the council.
Deadlines for appeal
Against this resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, interested parties may optionally file a request for reversal before the same body that issued it within one month, counting from the day following its publication. This measure complies with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
Alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Palencia, in accordance with Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the contentious-administrative jurisdiction. The text notes that, where applicable, any other appeal deemed appropriate may be exercised.
The publication of the public employment offer is the necessary preliminary step for the City Council of Guardo to subsequently call for the selection processes corresponding to each of the eight positions. For applicants from the region, it represents the opening of new opportunities for access to local public service in technical, administrative, and security profiles, as well as a path for promotion for active municipal personnel.
