Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of the Province of Girona (BOP) number 160, of August 20, 2026, publishes the Resolution of August 12, 2026, which provides for the registration and publication of the Collective Labor Agreement for the freight transport and logistics sector of the province of Girona for the years 2026-2027, with agreement code no. 17000455011994. The text, signed on July 24, 2026, directly affects companies and workers of the sector throughout the province.

The agreement was signed, on one hand, by the Girona Transporters Association (ASETRANS), the Girona employers’ association for transport, and, on the other, by the UGT union, the majority union in the sector. The resolution, signed by Anna Maria Mallol Gusiñé, head of the Labor Relations Service, acting on behalf of the director of Territorial Services, is framed within articles 90.2 and 90.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of October 23, which approves the revised text of the Workers’ Statute, and Royal Decree 713/2010, of May 28, on the registration and deposit of collective agreements.

Scope and validity

The agreement applies to all road freight transport companies based in the province of Girona, as well as those that, despite being based elsewhere, have establishments within the province, regarding the assigned personnel. All workers are affected, with the sole exception of senior management personnel.

  • Entry into force: January 1, 2026, for all purposes except for the agreed amount of per diems.
  • Duration: 2 years, until December 31, 2027, with tacit renewal if not denounced three months in advance.
  • The parties already consider the agreement denounced for 2028 and commit to starting negotiations from the second half of October 2027.

Salary increases and tables by category

The agreed salary increase for all concepts is 3.4% during 2026 and 3.5% during 2027. A revision clause is added: if the accumulated CPI for the two years exceeds 6.9%, the 2028 tables will be increased by the difference, up to a maximum of 0.5% and without retroactive effect. The text expressly repeals the previous clause regarding the distribution of increases at 50% between base salary and agreement bonus.

The salary tables detail the monthly amounts by professional groups, including base salary, agreement bonus, and monthly total, as well as the price of overtime. Among the categories listed:

  • Group I (senior/technical staff): head of service, €2,343.91 in 2026 and €2,425.95 in 2027.
  • Group II (administrative): head of section, €1,866.07 in 2026 and €1,931.38 in 2027.
  • Group III (movement and transport): driver, €1,266.98 in 2026 and €1,311.32 in 2027; mechanic driver, €1,380.22 and €1,428.53.
  • Group IV (workshops): workshop manager, €1,866.07 in 2026 and €1,931.38 in 2027.
  • Group 5 (subordinate): office assistant, €1,145.82 in 2026 and €1,185.92 in 2027.

Working conditions and social improvements

The annual effective working day is set at 1,766 hours, with an average monthly projection of 160.50 hours, distributed over six weekly days (extendable to five by agreement). The night shift bonus is established at 25% of the base salary for those who do not exceed 2/3 of the monthly working day on a night schedule, and at 30% for those who do. Personnel transporting flammable or explosive products shall receive a danger bonus of 15%.

Regarding welfare improvements, companies are obliged to contract life and disability insurance policies for all workers, with the following amounts throughout the duration of the agreement:

  • €45,968.93 for absolute disability for any type of work.
  • €40,321.39 for death.
  • €28,800.06 for total disability for the usual profession.

Temporary hiring may not exceed 35% of the workforce on an annual average and per workplace, and the contract for production circumstances may have a maximum duration of twelve months within an eighteen-month period. The agreement also regulates the Joint Committee, composed of eight members (four per party), with addresses in Vilobí d’Onyar (CIM La Selva, ASETRANS headquarters) and at the UGT headquarters at Miquel Blay street, 1, Girona.

The publication of this agreement provides legal certainty to a strategic sector for the economy of Girona, by clearly and updatedly establishing the salary and labor conditions of thousands of workers and transport and logistics companies in the province for the next two years.
