Figueres sotmet a exposició pública les ordenances fiscals de 2027

The Figueres City Council has provisionally approved the modification of four tax ordinances that will come into force on January 1, 2027, including those regulating the property tax (IBI) and the tax on constructions, installations, and works (ICIO). The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary in an ordinary session held on October 1, 2026, and is published in edict 8607 of the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 193, dated October 7, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_193_8607. The text is now subject to public exhibition for thirty business days so that interested parties may examine the file and submit any claims they deem appropriate.

The processing is carried out under article 17 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law regulating local treasuries. The municipal file supporting the agreement is GHIS2026000570, and the announcement was electronically signed by the mayor-president, Jordi Masquef Creus, on October 2, 2026.

Four revised ordinances

The modification affects the following texts, which will be applicable as of January 1, 2027, including:

  • Tax ordinance number 1, general management, inspection, and collection.
  • Tax ordinance number 3, regulating the property tax.
  • Tax ordinance number 6, regulating the tax on constructions, installations, and works.
  • Tax ordinance number 8, regulating the fees for private use or special exploitation of the public domain and for the provision of services or the performance of administrative activities of local competence.

This is, therefore, a revision that affects both property and urban planning taxation as well as the general regime for the management and collection of municipal public law revenues.

Thirty business days to claim

The agreement is subject to public exhibition for a period of thirty business days, counted from the business day following the last publication of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province and in one of the widest circulation newspapers in the province. During this period, interested parties may:

  • Consult the file on the corporation’s edict board and on the municipal website www.figueres.cat.
  • Request an appointment via the email address rendes@figueres.org.
  • Visit the third floor of the City Hall, at plaça Ajuntament, 12 in Figueres, during public office hours.
  • Submit any claims they deem appropriate against the provisionally approved text.

Final approval without a new Plenary step

If the exhibition period passes without any claim being filed, the adopted agreement will be definitively approved without the need for any new plenary agreement. In the event that no allegations are made, the ordinances will govern until their modification or repeal is agreed upon.

The impact of the measure is direct for all taxpayers in Figueres: property owners, construction developers, and users of municipal services and activities will see their fees updated starting from the first day of 2027. The thirty-business-day period is the only window that residents and affected entities have to challenge the figures before the text is finalized.
