Figueres convoca borses de treball per a tècnics i orientadors laborals

The Figueres City Council, through the Department of Personnel, has approved the bases and the call for the selection process for the creation of two job banks: one for economic activities technician and another for employment counselors, both in subgroup A2 and via open competitive examination. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona number 176, dated September 14, 2026, with official reference BOP-2026_0_176_7925 (edict 7925, pages 1-18).

The resolution, issued by means of decree 2026LLDC0006536 of August 21, 2026, aims to cover substitutions, vacations, leaves, temporary programs, accumulation of tasks, and supervening vacancies of a temporary nature, both as interim civil servant personnel and as fixed-term contractual personnel. The document, electronically signed by the mayor-president Jordi Masquef Creus, can be verified via the secure verification code (CSV) at www.figueres.cat/validador.

Two categories and access requirements

The called positions correspond to two professional categories with a 35-hour weekly workday in morning and/or afternoon schedules:

  • Economic Activities Technician (TAE), group A2, via open competitive examination.
  • Employment Counselor, group A2, via open competitive examination.

To participate in the tests, the following requirements must be met, among others:

  • Be a Spanish citizen or a citizen of an EU member state, or meet the conditions for the free movement of workers.
  • Possess a university degree, bachelor’s, or diploma; for the economic activities technician, degrees in business, economics, tourism, or similar are preferred, and for the employment counselor, psychology, pedagogy, social work, or similar.
  • Have knowledge of Catalan equivalent to the proficiency level (C1).
  • Pay the examination fee, with a 100% reduction for unemployed persons.

Selection process and evaluation

The selection system combines an opposition phase (up to 20 points) and a merit phase (up to 10 points). The opposition phase includes a preliminary test in Catalan and, if applicable, Spanish, followed by two exercises: one on a common syllabus and one of a practical nature specific to each call, both of which are mandatory and eliminatory with a minimum score of 5 points.

The merit phase evaluates professional experience (up to 6 points) and training (up to 4 points), including courses, higher degrees, and ACTIC certificates. The qualifying tribunal will be composed of City Council personnel, a technical member, and a representative from the School of Public Administration of Catalonia.

Deadlines and submission of applications

The rules are published in the BOP, on the municipal electronic notice board, and in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC), opening a period of ten business days for the submission of applications starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the DOGC. Applications should preferably be submitted to the General Electronic Registry of the City Council, or by appointment at the OMAC for in-person submission.

The examination fee must be paid separately for each call, indicating the corresponding file: PRSE2026000034 for the job bank for economic activities technicians and PRSE2026000033 for labor counselors.

An opportunity for employment professionals

Candidates who pass the selection process will join the job bank, from which they may be called by the City Council according to the order of qualification for a period of two years from the completion of the process. The call represents a relevant access route for professionals in economic promotion and labor guidance in the Alt Empordà region, at a time when the municipality is strengthening its economic development and employment services.
