Ferrol opens a services commission for the head of Intervention

Por FactBox Admin

The Ferrol City Council has opened an urgent call to fill, under a voluntary service commission regime, the head of the Intervention Service, a key position in municipal economic control. The decision was adopted by the Councilwoman delegated to the Area of Finance and Human Resources via resolution dated 08.27.2026, and the announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 166, dated September 1, 2026, with announcement number 2026/5647.

Interested parties have only 5 business days from the publication in the BOP to submit their application, which will be processed exclusively electronically through the municipal electronic office. The urgent nature of the provision, derived from the file itself and the figure of the service commission, means that applications from personnel in a situation of temporary disability at the close of the deadline will not be considered.

The position and its conditions

The vacancy, included in the City Council’s list of job positions published in BOP No. 248 on 12.29.2025, corresponds to code 08.01.02 and is reserved for civil servant personnel of subgroup A1. Its main characteristics are:

  • Destination supplement: 29, with remuneration of €2,180.88/month.
  • Assignment: open to personnel from any body or scale of another public administration (PA).
  • Specific training: C4 (Celga 4).
  • Observations: position eligible for performance under a teleworking regime (FR1).

The service commission will have a maximum duration of one year, extendable for another, although the position is included in the provision call by specific competition published in BOP No. 156 on August 18, 2026, therefore it is estimated that the appointment will be for less than one year.

Who can apply

Career civil servant personnel from any public administration who are in active service and meet the requirements demanded in the call and in the current list of job positions may participate. The common requirements are:

  • To be a career civil servant of subgroup A1, from general or special administration scales, of any public administration.
  • To be in a situation of active service.
  • Not to be in a situation of temporary disability on the closing date of the deadline, via a responsible declaration.

Applications must be accompanied by an instance according to the ANNEX I model, a copy of the DNI/NIF, curriculum vitae, certificate of active career civil servant, documentation accrediting experience and training, labor life report, required qualification, and a favorable report from the administration of origin.

Selection and taking office

The selection will be carried out through a reasoned proposal from the councillor delegated for Human Resources, based on criteria of competence and professional suitability. Merits claimed with reference to the closing date will be valued, and those not documented will not be taken into account.

If the commission does not imply a change of residence, the cessation and taking of office must occur within 3 days from the notification; if it implies a change of residence, the period will be 8 business days. If the selected person does not take office, the appointment will be void and another person may be appointed without a new call.

The call is governed by state and Galician public employment regulations, including Royal Decree 364/1995, Legislative Royal Decree 781/1986, and Law 2/2015 on public employment in Galicia. The resolution ends the administrative route and may be challenged through an appeal for reversal within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.

The filling of this head position is decisive to guarantee the control and auditing of municipal spending, therefore the urgency of the procedure and the openness to civil servants from any administration seek to ensure a rapid and solvent provision of a post essential for the economic management of the City Council.
