Extremadura convoca proyectos de innovación educativa para el curso 2026/27

The General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Inclusion of the Junta de Extremadura has announced the selection of educational innovation projects in non-university teaching centers supported by public funds for the 2026/27 academic year. The resolution, signed on September 24, 2026, by the general director Carmen María Gómez Labrador, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) no. 189, dated September 30, 2026, under reference 2026062440. Interested centers and teams have 15 business days from the date of publication to submit their applications.

The call is based on the Order of November 4, 2024, from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Vocational Training (DOE no. 218, dated November 8), whose Article 3 attributes the call to a resolution by the head of the general directorate competent in educational innovation. The organic framework is completed by Decree 18/2026, of April 30, and Decree 112/2026, of May 26 (DOE no. 105, dated June 3, 2026), which structures the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training into three services: Innovation, Teacher Training, and Entrepreneurship; Educational Technologies; and Inclusion and Attention to Diversity.

The declared priority objective is to improve student academic success through reflection, analysis, and research by teachers and the faculty. The resolution also seeks to promote innovation in pursuit of educational excellence, create incentives for communication between teachers and centers, share proven practices, and foster teacher recognition.

Who can participate and how to apply

Projects composed of active teachers serving in non-university centers maintained with public funds during the development of the project may apply. The regulation opens participation to Educational and Psychopedagogical Guidance Teams (General, Specific, and Early Intervention), social educators, and other sectors of the educational community.

  • Inter-center projects are organized around a coordinating center and cannot exceed five participating centers.
  • The application is formalized using Annex I, available on the website of the Service of Innovation, Teacher Training, and Entrepreneurship (formacion.educarex.es), and is submitted electronically via the associated headquarters of juntaex.es, using an electronic ID or valid certificate and Rayuela keys.
  • Each inter-center project requires a single Annex I and as many Annex IIs (favorable report from the management) as there are centers involved.
  • The submission deadline is 15 business days from publication; if the application is incomplete, there are 10 days to rectify it.
  • No teacher may assume more than two coordinations of innovation projects.

Requirements and lines of action

Projects must be original and unpublished, not approved in other calls for credit recognition, and have a favorable report from the center’s management certifying their fit within the educational project. The maximum length is 10 pages, excluding the cover page, and the scope is limited to one school year, with the possibility of requesting a continuation project.

The project must be developed within the framework of at least two of the following lines of action:

  • Promotion of innovative pedagogies and new models, techniques, and evaluation strategies.
  • Integration of educational technologies into the teaching-learning process.
  • Improvement of informational competence and communicative and linguistic competencies.
  • Development of social and emotional competence, with attention to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
  • Reinforcement of attention to diversity and co-education.
  • Promotion of entrepreneurial culture.
  • Management of center organizational models and professional learning communities, with the CqAE (Centers that Learn by Teaching) program as a reference.
  • New lines that the call itself justifies as being of general interest.

Upon approval, the project will be publicized on the center’s website and social networks, with at least one quarterly update of texts, images, and videos that will integrate the evidence portfolio.

Assessment, commission, and recognition

Projects are graded up to a maximum of 100 points. Failing to exceed 15 points in the objective and innovative nature section, or 60 points in total, are grounds for dismissal; plagiarism and the use of outdated terminology or legal frameworks lead to direct exclusion.

The analysis is carried out by a Selection and Assessment Commission chaired by the Director General of Educational Innovation and Inclusion, with members from the heads of the services of Innovation, Teacher Training and Entrepreneurship, Educational Technologies and Inclusion and Attention to Diversity, from the General Inspectorate of Education and Evaluation, from Academic Organization and Planning of Educational Centers and Educational Coordination, from the provincial Educational Program Units, from the CPR of Castuera, Almendralejo, and Cáceres, from an innovation consultancy, and from the Technical Teaching Consultancy. The secretary acts with a voice but without a vote.

  • Selected projects will not receive funding or financial endowments from the general directorate; training and material needs will be covered by the reference Teacher and Resource Center according to its budget availability.
  • The maximum period for resolution and notification is three months from the day following publication; after this period, the application is considered rejected by administrative silence.
  • Recognition amounts to up to 40 hours (4 innovation credits) for teaching staff and up to 50 hours (5 credits) for coordination in group or inter-center projects.
  • Final documentation (Annex III, evidence portfolio, and a video of no more than 3 minutes) must be submitted by June 15 of the year the course ends.
  • An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the resolution before the Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training within one month.

The call is issued without direct financial endowment, so its value for the centers lies in the professional recognition of the teaching staff and the dissemination of the selected practices. The chosen projects will be integrated into a regional repository that will allow the experiences to be replicated and extended to the entirety of the Extremaduran educational system.
