Por FactBox Admin

The Junta de Extremadura has announced the 2026 grants intended for self-employed workers and SMEs that implement work-life balance measures, with a budget of 1,800,000 euros. The call is approved by the Resolution of September 10, 2026, of the General Secretariat of the Vice Presidency and Ministry of Presidency, Coordination of Government Action, Interior and Emergencies, published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) number 186, of September 25, 2026 (reference 2026062356). The summary of the call is disseminated with reference 2026062411 and identifier BDNS 930560.
The grants are governed by Decree 87/2025, of July 29, which establishes the regulatory bases and approved the first call (DOE no. 164, of August 26, 2025). The procedure is processed under a direct grant regime through an open call, in accordance with Article 29 of Law 6/2011, of March 23, on Subsidies of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura: grants are awarded as they are requested, without comparison or priority between applications. The proposed resolution was formulated by the General Secretariat for Equality and Conciliation on August 3, 2026, and the authority to resolve corresponds to the aforementioned General Secretariat according to Decree 103/2026, of May 26, on the organic structure of the Presidency of the Junta.
The funding, for a total amount of 1,800,000.00 euros, is charged to budget application 02006/253A/47000 and Project 20250236 “Promotion of conciliation measures in the workplace,” charged to the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura for 2026.
Amounts and eligible modalities
The call is divided into two lines, both with the same unit amount:
- Line 1 (teleworking): 2,500 euros per worker with an individual or collective teleworking agreement, formalized through contract adaptation or through the new hiring of a person not linked to the company.
- Line 2 (flexible scheduling): 2,500 euros per worker with an individual or collective flexible scheduling agreement annexed to the contract.
- Maximum limit: 10,000 euros per company and call in each line.
- Increase: An additional 1,000 euros for companies whose female employment rate is at least equal to the male rate.
Each person or company may be subsidized only once for each signed agreement and may only apply to one of the two lines per worker. Payment is made in a single installment of 100% of the granted amount, into the bank account indicated in the application.
Deadlines and agreement requirements
- Applications may be submitted from the day following the publication of the call and its summary in the DOE until November 15, 2026.
- Applicants have one month from the signing of the teleworking or flexible scheduling agreement to formalize the application.
- Agreements signed between January 1, 2026, and November 15, 2026, are eligible for subsidies.
- Agreements must be maintained for a period of no less than one year.
- The teleworking agreement must establish a minimum of 30% of the weekly working day and comply with the content of Article 7 of Law 10/2021, of July 9, on remote work.
- The resolution is notified within three months of the application; the lack of an express resolution shall be understood as rejected due to administrative silence.
Beneficiaries, flexibility measures, and compatibility
Self-employed workers or those working on their own account, registered with Social Security or the mutual fund of the corresponding professional association, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, including civil societies with legal personality, associated work cooperatives, labor companies, communities of goods, and partners of commercial companies, may apply for the grants.
The admitted flexible scheduling measures include:
- Fixed-variable, floating flexible, free flexible, and staggered schedules.
- Compressed workweek and hour banks.
The subsidies are subject to the de minimis Regulation (EU) 2023/2831, with a cap of 300,000 euros per company in any three-year period, and are incompatible with other grants received for the same action. A subsidy may not be granted to a company for the same worker for more than two consecutive calls and under the same line.
The call reaches an Extremaduran business fabric dominated by micro-enterprises and self-employed workers, for whom the cost of organizing teleworking or rearranging schedules is usually the main deterrent. With 1,800,000 euros available and a maximum of 10,000 euros per company, the real impact of the measure will depend on how many SMEs formalize agreements before November 15 and whether these are maintained for at least one year, a condition required to retain the aid.
