Danish Motor Vehicle Complaints Board orders Autossund ApS to pay consumer
Por FactBox Admin

The Ankenævn for biler, Denmark’s complaints board for motor vehicles, has ordered Autossund ApS to pay DKK 70,000 including VAT to a consumer and DKK 12,500 including VAT in case costs to the board itself. The decision, a ruling of 24 June 2026 in case 30456, is published as a public service notice in Statstidende because it could not be served on the company in any other way. The notice appears under the heading “Øvrige retslige kundgørelser · Andre forkyndelser” with the official reference S30092026-154.
The ruling and the amounts
According to the published notice, the ruling was issued by the Ankenævn for biler on 24 June 2026 in case 30456. The obligations it imposes on the defendant company are:
- DKK 70,000 including VAT to be paid to the consumer within 30 days of service of the ruling.
- DKK 12,500 including VAT to be paid to the complaints board within 30 days of service, covering case costs.
- The complaint fee is refunded, because the consumer’s claim was upheld.
The notice identifies the party against whom service is made as Autossund ApS, CVR-nr. 39552132, with the last known address Jernbanevej 57, 4340 Tølløse, Denmark.
Public service because the company could not be found
The board states explicitly that the ruling is served publicly because it has not been possible to serve it in any other way. Public service is the fallback route used when a party cannot be reached at its registered or last known address, and it is the reason the decision appears in the official gazette rather than only in the board’s own case file.
The notice is signed in Ballerup on 30 September 2026 by Nikolaj Andreasen, sekretariatschef (head of secretariat) of the Ankenævn for biler. The board’s secretariat is based at Lautrupvang 2, 2750 Ballerup, which is also the address given for obtaining the full text of the ruling.
Where the ruling can be obtained
The published notice sets out the practical route for anyone who needs the underlying decision:
- The full ruling can be collected from the Ankenævn for biler, Lautrupvang 2, 2750 Ballerup.
- The board operates the consumer complaints portal bilklage.dk, named in the heading of the notice.
- The 30-day payment deadlines run from the date of service of the ruling, not from the date of the ruling itself.
The notice does not state the subject matter of the underlying dispute, the identity of the consumer, or whether the company has responded to the proceedings.
Why it matters
For consumers, the notice is a reminder that a complaints board decision is enforceable against a business even when the business has become hard to reach: public service through Statstidende is what starts the clock on the payment deadlines. For companies trading in used or new vehicles, it shows that ignoring a case at the Ankenævn for biler does not make it disappear — it ends up published in the official gazette with the company name, CVR number and address attached. The case also illustrates the cost structure of the board’s decisions: the disputed amount of DKK 70,000 is accompanied by DKK 12,500 in case costs payable to the board, on top of the refunded complaint fee.
