Castilla y León pagará 20 euros mensuales a los docentes tutores

Non-university teaching staff in Castilla y León serving as tutors will receive a monthly supplement of 20 euros, effective from September 1, 2026. This is established by Order PRE/1107/2026, of October 26, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León no. 211, Friday, October 30, 2026, within section I.A (General Provisions). The regulation modifies Order PRE/1/2026, of January 2, which set the remuneration for personnel serving the General Administration of the Community and its autonomous bodies for this fiscal year.

From the union agreement to the payroll

The order is the final link in an agreement signed two weeks prior. By Agreement of October 8, 2026, the Regional Government of Castilla y León approved the text for the improvement of tutoring and the reduction of teaching hours for teachers over 55 years old, which was signed on October 9 between the Department of Education and the trade union organizations CSIF, ANPE, and STECyL-i. Its content was disseminated through Order EDU/1051/2026, of October 9 (Official Gazette of Castilla y León no. 199, October 14, 2026, pages 129 to 133).

The supplement was negotiated at the sectoral table for teaching staff of non-university public centers held on July 27, 2026. To make it effective, it was necessary to adjust the annual remuneration regulation, given that the payment affects the competencies of two departments: the order is approved through the joint initiative of the Counselor of the Presidency and the Counselor of Education and is signed by Luis Miguel González Gago.

A new point in Annex V

The technical change is limited to Annex V, “Ordinary monthly payments. Personnel of non-university teaching bodies.” Within the Second section, relating to the singular component of the specific supplement for holding single-person government bodies or performing singular teaching positions, a fifth point is added: the designation as a tutor during the school year is remunerated with 20 euros per month.

The text specifies that the modification “will take effect from September 1, 2026,” so that the payment already covers the start of the current school year.

Who receives it and how much it will increase

The agreement published in October details the beneficiaries and the path of increases:

  • Career, trainee, or interim civil servant teaching staff designated as a tutor during the school year.
  • Early Childhood Education and Primary Education.
  • Special Education Centers and substitute classrooms.
  • Adult Education Centers.
  • Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate.
  • Vocational Training.
  • 2026/2027 school year: 20 euros per month from September 1, 2026.
  • 2027/2028 school year: 40 euros per month from September 1, 2027.
  • 2028/2029 school year: 60 euros per month from September 1, 2028.

It is, therefore, a fixed amount that will increase course by course until it triples by the end of the committed period.

The second pillar: fewer teaching hours from age 55

The same agreement incorporates the reduction of teaching hours for teachers over 55 years of age, applicable to career civil servants, those in training, or interim staff filling a vacancy or a full-course substitution, with at least 15 years of service in non-university public education and without a part-time contract or other voluntary reductions.

The calendar unfolds in phases: one less teaching hour or period starting from the 2026-2027 course for those who were 59 or older as of September 1, 2026; two starting from age 58 and three starting from age 60 in subsequent courses, until the rollout is completed in 2031-2032. The reductions require mandatory presence at the center and are recognized ex officio, with the teacher’s annual right to opt out.

The agreement also creates a joint monitoring commission, which must be established within 30 days of its publication and meet at least every quarter, and sets a validity period of four years from the signing, which is renewable. It also includes the commitment to open avenues to reduce the teaching load of tutor teachers in the future.

Impact

The measure reaches thousands of Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training teachers in the public network, who will see a previously non-specifically remunerated task recognized on their payroll, with an amount that will be consolidated over the next three courses.
