Carballo opens job bank for IT technician

The Carballo City Council has opened the public call to establish a job bank intended for the temporary coverage of IT Technician positions, from the Special Administration scale, Technical subscale, Senior Technician class (group A, subgroup A2, level 26). The decision was adopted by Mayoral Resolution no. 2408/2026, dated September 27, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 167, of September 2, 2026, under announcement number 2026/5665.
The job bank, processed under file 2026/E001/0000011, aims to meet the personnel needs that may arise in the council through the appointment of interim civil servants, as well as future temporary incorporations with equivalent professional status. The selected individuals will be responsible for the planning, management, maintenance, and development of municipal information and communication systems, and for technical advisory in their area of specialization.
Deadline and submission of applications
The deadline for submitting applications is 10 business days, counted from the day following the full publication of the call and its bases in the BOP. Applications should preferably be submitted electronically through the council’s electronic office (www.sede.carballo.gal), although the forms provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure are also admitted.
The following documentation must be attached to the application:
- DNI, passport, or equivalent document proving identity and nationality.
- Degree proving the required qualification or a certificate stating that the applicant is in a position to obtain it.
- List of merits with supporting documentation.
- Responsible declaration regarding authorization, capacity, and compatibility.
- Proof of payment of €24.00 as examination fees, in accordance with Fiscal Ordinance no. 26.
Requirements for applicants
To be admitted, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have Spanish nationality or another that allows access to public employment.
- Be at least 16 years old and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
- Possess the physical and psychological capacities and aptitudes necessary for the position.
- Not be separated from the service of any Administration nor disqualified.
- Not incur any cause of incompatibility.
- Be in possession of a degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent (or a degree, diploma, or technical engineering degree that qualifies for subgroup A2).
- Accredit knowledge of the Galician language (CELGA 4 or equivalent), or pass the specific test.
Selection system
The selection process will be a competitive examination (concurso-oposición), with an examination phase (60%) and a merit phase (40%). The examination phase consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire of 100 questions, plus 10 reserve questions, within a maximum time of 140 minutes; correct answers score 0.6 points and it is necessary to reach a minimum of 30 points out of 60 to pass.
The merit phase evaluates claimed merits for up to 40 points, distributed among academic training (6 points), specific training and certifications (18 points), professional experience (12 points), and other merits (4 points). Among the valued certifications are those in cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM, ENS, CEH), Microsoft, auditing and implementation of the National Security Scheme (Esquema Nacional de Seguridade), and data protection officer.
