Cantabria publica el convenio colectivo agropecuario 2026-2027 con subidas salariales

The Official Gazette of Cantabria publishes this Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the resolution ordering the registration and publication of the Collective Agreement for the Agricultural Sector of Cantabria for the years 2026-2027. The regulation, processed by the General Directorate of Labor, Social Economy, and Self-Employment of the Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation, and Trade, appears with the official reference CVE-2026-7737 and the code 39002935012004. The text was signed on April 7, 2026, by the negotiating commission and corrected before the regional registry on September 25, 2026.

The resolution is issued under Article 90 of the Workers’ Statute and Articles 2 and 8 of Royal Decree 713/2010, regarding the Registration and Deposit of Collective Agreements, Collective Labor Agreements, and Equality Plans, as well as the regional decrees on the reorganization of ministries. The agreement is registered in the Registry of Collective Agreements, Collective Labor Agreements, and Equality Plans (REGCON) of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria.

The negotiating commission was composed, representing employers, by the Association of Young Farmers (ASAJA) and the Union of Mountain Livestock Breeders and Farmers (UGAMCOAG); and, representing the workers, by the CCOO Industry Federation of Cantabria and the UGT Industry, Construction, and Agro Federation (FICA-UGT). The resolution bears the signature of the Director General of Labor, Social Economy, and Self-Employment, Jaime Gonzalo Alonso Rozadilla, and is dated in Santander on September 29, 2026.

Validity, salaries, and professional classification

The agreement has a duration of two years, from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027, and shall be understood as automatically terminated one month prior to its end, maintaining its normative and salary content until the signing of the next one.

  • 2026: increase effective from January 1 until the SMI (Minimum Interprofessional Wage) is reached at level VI.
  • Level V: 574 euros annually.
  • Levels III and IV: 622 euros annually.
  • Levels I and II: 661 euros annually.
  • 2027: the 2026 CPI will be applied to the 2026 salary tables.
  • For SMI purposes, 14 payments are computed.

The professional classification is organized into six levels, from technical personnel (level I) to laborers (level VI), including foremen, transporters, machinists, specialists, shepherds, milkers, or harvesters. A seniority supplement is recognized through three-year periods of 4% over the base salary and two extraordinary bonuses for summer and Christmas, consisting of 30 days of salary plus seniority, payable on June 30 and December 22.

Working day, breaks, and social conditions

The maximum working day during the term of the agreement shall be 1,768 annual hours, with a reference weekly average of 40 hours and a maximum of 9 hours per day. For continuous shifts of more than six hours, a 20-minute break for a snack is recognized, which is considered effective working time. Annual vacations shall be 30 paid calendar days.

Overtime is prohibited except in exceptional circumstances and by prior agreement, with a 75% surcharge and a maximum of 80 hours per year. The text also regulates the night shift bonus and the toxicity bonus, both at 25%, the inactivity supplement of 20% of the base salary per day for agricultural personnel with contributions based on actual days worked, and the employer’s obligation to provide two summer uniforms and two winter uniforms.

Hiring, equality, and discipline

Regarding hiring, the agreement sets the call for seasonal workers (fijos discontinuos) 30 days prior to the start of the campaign and 15 days to confirm attendance, and establishes that persons with temporary contracts will become seasonal workers after two campaigns of at least 30 days. The Joint Commission of the agreement is created, with four representatives per party and agreements requiring 60% of each representation, as well as the Regional Occupational Risk Prevention Commission and the Sectoral Joint Training Commission.

The text incorporates equality plans, protocols against sexual, moral, and gender-based harassment, and against violence against LGBTI people, with an investigation procedure that must be resolved within a maximum of 30 days. The disciplinary regime classifies offenses as minor, serious, and very serious, with sanctions ranging from a verbal warning to disciplinary dismissal.

The publication closes the negotiation process opened in April and provides regulatory coverage to thousands of agricultural and livestock workers in Cantabria for two years, with retroactive effects on salaries from January 1, 2026.
