Astorga corrige al alza su oferta de empleo público de 2026

The Mayor’s Office of Astorga has revised upwards the 2026 Public Employment Offer, which has been expanded with more than fifty civil service and contractual positions. The modification was approved by Mayor’s Office resolution number 2026-0863, dated September 29, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León no. 191, dated October 7, 2026, under reference BOP-LE-2026-191001.

The announcement, signed by Mayor José Luis Nieto Martínez in Astorga on October 1, 2026, corrects the offer initially approved by resolution number 2026-0668, dated July 23, 2026, and occupies pages 3 to 6 of the provincial gazette. The new list of positions is divided into two main blocks—civil servants and contractual staff—and details for each position the job code, classification group, and destination supplement level.

Overall, the corrected offer comprises 18 civil service positions and 39 contractual positions, to which the position of Multi-purpose Operator from the trades scale is added. The volume of vacancies places this call among the primary routes of access to local public employment for candidates in the Maragatería region.

Civil Servants: 18 positions between general and special administration

The civil servant block is divided between General Administration and Special Administration, with the following positions:

  • General Administration, administrative scale: 3 Administrative positions (group C1), assigned to Audit, Secretariat, and Coordination.
  • Auxiliary scale: 5 Auxiliary positions (group C2), of which 2 correspond to Audit, 1 to Treasury, and 2 to Secretariat.
  • Technical branch: 1 IT Auxiliary position (group C1).
  • Municipal Police: 7 positions, including 1 Sub-inspector (A2), 1 Auxiliary (C2), and 5 Local Police Officers (C1).
  • Special duties: 1 Music Band Director position (A1) and 1 Library and Archive Auxiliary position (C2).
  • Trade personnel: Multi-purpose Operator, framed within professional groupings.

Contractual: 39 positions, including eight music teachers and five cleaners

Contractual staff make up the bulk of the offer, with a particular emphasis on staff linked to music education, sports, and municipal services:

  • 8 Music Teacher positions (Music 1 to Music 7 and Music 8-Dance), requiring an Intermediate Degree.
  • 1 Practical Teacher position and 1 Basketball Sports Instructor position.
  • 5 Cleaner positions and 4 Toy Library Instructor positions.
  • 2 Lifeguard Instructor positions, 2 Swimming Instructor positions, and 1 additional Lifeguard Instructor position.
  • 2 Multi-purpose Operator positions, 2 Garden Multi-purpose Operator positions, 1 Pavilion Multi-purpose Operator position, and 1 Cemetery Operator position.
  • 1 Technical Architect position and 1 Administrative Auxiliary position.
  • 4 Tourism Auxiliary positions and 1 Consumer Affairs Auxiliary position.

Deadlines and Appeals

The resolution concludes the administrative process; therefore, interested parties have the following means of challenge:

  • Optional appeal for reversal (recurso potestativo de reposición) before the Mayor’s Office within one month from the day following notification, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015.
  • Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of León within two months, according to article 46 of Law 29/1998.
  • If the appeal for reversal is chosen, the contentious-administrative appeal cannot be filed until the former is expressly resolved or dismissed by administrative silence.

The correction of the 2026 offer significantly expands public employment options in Astorga and its surroundings, with positions for all qualification levels: from professional groupings and primary studies to Intermediate Vocational Training and university degrees. For candidates in the region, the announcement establishes the definitive map of vacancies for the year and opens a calendar of selection processes that will be detailed as their processing advances.
