Armuña de Tajuña abre el plazo para modificar la ordenanza del IBI

The City Council of Armuña de Tajuña has opened the public information period for the modification of its municipal ordinance regulating the Property Tax (IBI), initially approved by agreement of the corporation’s Plenary session on October 6, 2026. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 196, corresponding to Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and directly affects the receipt paid by all property owners within the municipal district.

The processing complies with the provisions of articles 49 and 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Regime, and article 56 of the Revised Text of the Local Regime. This is the ordinary procedure for any modification of a municipal tax ordinance: initial approval by the Plenary, public exhibition of the file, and, if applicable, final approval.

The file is available to any interested party at the municipal offices and on the electronic headquarters of the City Council of Armuña de Tajuña (https://armunadetajuna.sedelectronica.es). The announcement was signed in Armuña de Tajuña on October 7, 2026, by the mayor, Raquel Polo Castillo.

Thirty days to examine the file and file objections

The public information period is thirty days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement. The dissemination is carried out through three channels:

  • Announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara.
  • Publication in one of the daily written media outlets.
  • Exhibition on the Corporation’s notice board.

During this period, any interested person may examine the text of the modification at the municipal offices and submit any objections or claims they deem appropriate. The text will also be available on the municipal electronic headquarters.

Final approval without express agreement if there are no claims

The announcement specifies that, in the event that no claims are submitted within the indicated period, the agreement to modify the ordinance will be understood as definitively approved, without the need for a subsequent express agreement from the Plenary. This mechanism is standard in modifications of local tax ordinances and avoids a second vote when there is no citizen response.

The document incorporates an official verification code (0afbece83525d326be10e2ff5ddf4779726bb927) which allows the authenticity of the announcement to be verified through the electronic headquarters of the provincial gazette.

A municipality with accounts under review

The modification of the IBI (Property Tax) ordinance coincides in time with other economic files from the same council. The Plenary of October 6, 2026, also initially approved credit modification file number 1/2026 of the current budget, in the forms of credit supplements, extraordinary credit, and credit generation through income, financed by the treasury surplus and higher revenues for a total amount of 46,235.98 euros. That file was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 193, dated October 9, 2026, with a fifteen-day exhibition period.

In the tax sphere, the Provincial Collection Service of the Provincial Council of Guadalajara maintains for Armuña de Tajuña a discount of 3% on the IBI quota in favor of taxpayers who set up direct debit payment with a financial institution, according to the edict published in provincial bulletin number 175, dated September 14, 2026.

The revision of IBI tax ordinances is a widespread practice in the province at this time: the Valdesotos City Council approved on September 30, 2026, the modification of its ordinance for IBI of special characteristics, published in bulletin number 188, dated October 2, 2026.

What this means for owners

The modification of the IBI regulatory ordinance determines the tax rate, discounts, and management rules of the tax that will be applied to the receipts of properties in the municipality, meaning its content directly conditions the amount that owners will pay. As this is an initial approval, the text is not yet final: affected residents and holders have thirty days from publication to consult it and submit allegations, and only if no claim is registered will the modification be automatically approved.
