Appel à projets flamand pour des démonstrations en agriculture durable

The Flemish Minister for Environment and Agriculture is launching the second 2026 call for demonstration projects in sustainable agriculture, published in the Belgian Official Gazette on September 11, 2026 (p. 49721). The ministerial decree of September 1, 2026, referenced C-2026/006600, opens a total envelope of €1,000,000, with a ceiling of €100,000 per project, for applications submitted from September 18 to October 22, 2026.

This call is part of the decree of June 28, 2013, relating to agricultural and fisheries policy, and the Flemish Government decree of April 21, 2023, granting subsidies for awareness-raising actions aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture. The text was submitted for the opinion of the Finance Inspectorate on July 10, 2026, and the Council of State decided on July 17, 2026, not to issue an opinion.

Two priority themes

Eligible demonstration projects must focus on one of the following two themes:

  • Theme 1: preventive health in animal sectors;
  • Theme 2: integrated pest management (IPM).

At least one demonstration project will be selected per theme, unless no project for a given theme reaches the minimum required score.

Conditions and timeline

Requests for aid must be submitted to the competent entity via the electronic portal (e-loket), starting from September 18, 2026, and until October 22, 2026, inclusive. To be admissible, they must notably:

  • be submitted by a legal entity as defined in Article 4, first paragraph, of the decree of April 21, 2023;
  • be submitted within the deadlines, via the electronic portal, using the forms provided by the competent entity;
  • contain the elements and commitments provided for in Article 11, first and second paragraphs, of the decree of April 21, 2023.

Selected projects must be executed within a maximum period of two years between the date of signature of the grant decision and March 31, 2029, with a start date no later than April 1, 2027. An extension is only possible if all conditions of Article 7, second paragraph, of the decree of April 21, 2023, are met and without exceeding March 31, 2029.

A direct funding opportunity

The decree, signed in Brussels on September 1, 2026, by Minister J. Brouns, enters into force on September 18, 2026, the date for the opening of application submissions. With a budget of one million euros and a ceiling of €100,000 per project, this call constitutes a direct funding opportunity for Flemish agricultural actors wishing to test and disseminate sustainable practices in preventive animal health and integrated pest management.

For Flemish farmers and organizations, this second 2026 call offers a short but concrete submission window to obtain public support for high-impact demonstration projects. It is part of the continuity of the sustainable agriculture awareness mechanism established by the Flemish Region, and should allow for the emergence of reproducible solutions for the benefit of the entire sector.
