Aalborg court grants debt relief to self-employed debtor Edvin Thomsen

The probate court in Aalborg, Skifteretten i Aalborg, ruled on 30 September 2026 that Edvin Thomsen, a debtor who ran a personally owned business, is granted debt relief (gældssanering). The ruling reduces his unsecured debt to 36.769130% of its original amount, payable over three years, with a first instalment of DKK 54,090.16 due no later than 31 December 2026. The decision was published in Statstidende on 6 October 2026 under case number SKS 31-154/2026.

The announcement appears in the gazette’s debt-relief section as a “Kendelse”, a court ruling, issued by Retten i Aalborg. It concerns a debtor who operated a personally owned business registered under CVR no. 30434994, and who is identified in the notice by date of birth 15.06.1976 and by the address Søndre Kongevej 17, 1, 9400 Nørresundby.

The ruling covers unsecured debt incurred by Edvin Thomsen before 14 April 2026. Under the terms fixed by the court, that debt is written down to 36.769130% and settled over a three-year period. The court further ordered that claims which would yield only DKK 3,600 during the instalment period be disregarded, citing § 216, stk. 2, 2-4 pkt., of the Danish Bankruptcy Act (konkursloven) together with § 14 of the executive order on debt relief (bekendtgørelse om gældssanering).

Parties and procedure

The ruling was handed down by Skifteretten i Aalborg on 30 September 2026 and published in Statstidende on 6 October 2026. The notice names attorney Tommy Olesen as the court’s assistant in the case, and Retten i Aalborg as the court of record.

The terms are binding on the creditors covered by the ruling. The schedule gives creditors a fixed calendar for recovery: a first payment before the end of 2026 and three annual payments thereafter, ending on 1 November 2029.
