A Baña announces a vacancy for a forestry worker with ESF+ funds

The Concello da Baña (Baña City Council) has approved the bases that will govern the selection and hiring of a forestry worker as temporary labor personnel, under the subsidy of the FSE+ Galicia 2021-2027 program for the hiring of young people registered in the National Youth Guarantee System. The Mayoral resolution, signed by Mayor José Antonio Pereira Gil, was published in the Boletín Oficial da Provincia da Coruña number 160, dated August 24, 2026, as announcement 2026/5519.

The hiring is framed within the Order of May 22, 2026, from the Ministry of Employment, Trade and Emigration, which approves the regulatory bases for subsidies destined for the hiring of young people (procedure code TR350E_2026), published in DOG no. 108 on June 11, 2026. The Council requested aid in the amount of 33,805.28 euros through Decree 479/2026 of June 30, and on August 12, 2026, received a favorable resolution for the granting of 16,902.64 euros.

The position and functions

The offered position is that of a forestry worker, contribution group 10, with a full-time schedule (100%) and a duration of 9 months, within the municipal district of Baña. The gross monthly remuneration, including the proportional part of extra payments, is 1,424.50 euros.

The main functions are:

• Maintenance of recreational areas, green zones and native species, and control of invasive species.
• Cleaning and conditioning of roadsides, municipal roads, streams and estates with water deposits.
• Pruning tasks and removal of invasive weeds using chainsaws and other machinery.
• Prevention and fighting against fires, forestry and management of forest biomass on municipal roads and paths.

Requirements and selection process

People over 18 years old, unemployed and registered as job seekers in the Public Employment Service of Galicia under CNO code 95431028, and beneficiaries of the National Youth Guarantee System file, may participate. No academic qualification is required.

The process is a competitive examination (concurso-oposición), with an examination phase (practical tests, up to 28 points) and a valuation of merits (up to 2 points), in addition to a test of knowledge of the Galician language. The selection committee will be composed of five members. Preference will be given to people with greater difficulties in labor insertion, in this order:

• People with disabilities (1 point).
• Trans people (0.75 points).
• Disadvantaged groups or those at risk of social exclusion (0.5 points).
• Young women who participated in youth employment programs in the last three years (0.25 points).

The Council will present the job offer at the Public Employment Office of Santiago Norte within a maximum period of 5 business days from the publication in the bulletin, and only people appearing on the list sent by the employment service may apply.

An opportunity for the youth of the region

The call for applications represents an employment opportunity for unemployed young people in the region, in a rural municipality where forest prevention and woodland cleaning tasks are essential for public service. The resulting employment pool will remain in effect permanently until the next call, which will allow for the filling of future vacancies and urgent needs of the Baña City Council.
