In the labour section of the same day, the Kanto Regional Transport Council, Chubu Regional Transport Council, and Chugoku Regional Transport Council published notices stating that they will hear opinions from relevant seafarers and employers regarding the revision decisions for specified minimum wages for seafarers in the coastal steel ship operation industry, wooden ship operation industry, maritime passenger transport industry, and fishing industry (offshore bottom trawling, large and medium-sized purse seine). For workers employed within Miyazaki Prefecture, 1,085 yen per hour will become the new minimum wage. For all forms of employment, including part-time and casual work, employers must ensure that the wages paid do not fall below this level. This decision has been published in the Official Gazette, and establishments within the prefecture are required to promptly review their own wage levels.
