Villanueva revisa la tasa de residencia y centro de día de mayores

The City Council of Villanueva de la Vera has provisionally approved the modification of the fiscal ordinance regulating the fee for assistance and stays at the Municipal Residence and Day Center for the Elderly, as well as for the home meal service and home laundry service for senior citizens. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session on November 3, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0213, dated November 6, 2026, in Section I - Local Administration, with official reference BOP-2026-5196. The file will be available for inspection for thirty days so that interested parties may examine it and submit claims.

The modification was agreed upon by the municipal Plenary in its ordinary session on November 3, 2026, as stated in the announcement signed in Villanueva de la Vera on November 4, 2026, by the mayor, Daniel González Morcuende.

The procedure complies with the provisions of Article 17.2 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. This regulation requires that files for the modification of fiscal ordinances be submitted for public information before their final approval.

It is, therefore, a provisional approval: the text does not acquire a definitive character until the public exhibition process is concluded.

Thirty days to appeal

The public information period is thirty days and is calculated from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province. During this period, any interested party may submit the allegations they deem appropriate.

The announcement details the channels enabled for the process:

  • In-person examination of the file at the municipal offices of the City Council of Villanueva de la Vera.
  • Consultation via the municipal electronic office, accessible at the address http://villanuevadelavera.sedelectronica.es.
  • Submission of claims and any documents considered relevant within the specified period.

The official text further specifies the administrative effect of the process: if no claims have been submitted after the thirty-day period, the agreement will be considered definitively approved without the need for a new express plenary pronouncement regarding the allegations.

Services affected by the fee

The ordinance under review groups several municipal services aimed at elderly people under a single tax figure, meaning the modification affects a wide range of benefits:

  • Care and stays at the Municipal Elderly Residence, for both independent and assisted persons.
  • Municipal Elderly Day Center, with the same distinction between independent and assisted users.
  • Home-delivered meals for elderly residents of the municipality.
  • Home laundry service for senior citizens.

The published announcement does not detail the new amounts or the resulting tariff structure; therefore, the specific economic content of the modification must be consulted in the public record, available both at the municipal offices and on the electronic headquarters.

Impact for users and families

The fee under review is the one paid directly by users—and, where applicable, their families—for stays, day center spots, home-delivered menus, and laundry. Any variation in the ordinance affects the monthly cost assumed by households with dependent elderly people in a municipality of the La Vera region, which has an aging and dispersed population.

The process now open is the only formal opportunity for residents, families, and affected entities to raise objections to the text before the regulation is definitively approved. After thirty days from the publication on November 6, 2026, and in the absence of claims, the modification will enter into force in accordance with local treasury legislation.
