Vilafant sotmet a informació pública les ordenances fiscals de 2027

The Vilafant City Council has provisionally approved the modification of two tax ordinances that will govern the 2027 fiscal year and subsequent years. The Plenary agreed to this in an extraordinary session on November 2, 2026, and the edict is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona number 214, dated November 6, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_214_9559. The texts will remain on public display for 30 business days before the changes become final.

The process is handled under file X2026001863 and affects two municipal regulations of an economic nature: the one fixing the taxes paid by citizens and companies for the activities and services provided by the council, and the one ordering the general regulation of public prices. The agreement is framed within article 49.b of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of the local regime, and article 17.1 of the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The edict was signed by the mayor, Montserrat De La Llave Alegri, dated November 3, 2026.

The two affected ordinances

The provisionally approved modification affects two ordinances numbered within the municipal regulatory body:

  • No. 8 Regulatory ordinance of taxes for the performance of activities and provision of municipal services.
  • No. 18 General regulation of municipal public prices.

Both are tools for managing municipal income: the first determines the amounts of taxes for services and activities, and the second establishes the regime of public prices charged by the City Council. The approved changes do not yet enter into force, but will do so once the public display process is completed and the modified texts are published in full in the provincial gazette.

Thirty business days to consult and appeal

The file will remain open to the public for a period of thirty business days, counted from the day after the publication of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona, that is, starting from November 7, 2026. During this period, any interested person may consult the file and present the claims or allegations they deem appropriate.

For allegations sent by postal mail, the edict sets two requirements that must be met simultaneously:

  • Justify the date of posting of the shipment at the post office.
  • Notify the City Council of the submission of the claim or allegation via email to the address secretaria@vilafant.cat on the same day.

Without the concurrence of these two requirements, claims or allegations arriving at the City Council after the end date of the indicated period will not be admitted.

Automatic final approval if there are no allegations

If, once the public exhibition period has elapsed, no allegations or claims have been submitted, the agreements adopted shall remain definitively approved without the need for the Plenary to vote on them expressly again. In this case, the full publication of the modified texts in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona will proceed for the purposes of their entry into force.

The Vilafant City Council, with headquarters at plaça de l’Ajuntament, 1, in the locality (Alt Empordà), is the body processing the file and the one that will receive the allegations from interested parties.

The decision has a direct effect on the pockets of the residents of Vilafant: the taxes for municipal activities and services and the public prices that will apply in 2027 will depend on the content of these two ordinances, which are now open to amendments for one business month. Citizens and affected entities have until the end of this period to review the changes and submit objections before the text is finalized.
